I can't WAIT to see the pediatric allergist...

We found out via blood test at 4mos that DD is allergic to peanuts. Since then, she's had reactions to a certain lotion, new clothes that haven't been washed, raspberries, prunes, the cap of a brand new unopened bottle of baby Motrin, and as of today, six unidentified episodes of hives. I'm so over this, y'all. We're seeing the pedi today and I'm going to ask if we can go to the allergist early. We were supposed to wait until she turned one for her to "mature", but we're three weeks away now so I don't really see the point in waiting. What'll happen in 3 weeks? Probably more reactions.

ETA: she was only getting peanuts via my breast milk. :-) No PB&Js for my 4mo-old! Oy.

    Oh dear! I'm sorry you're going through that.. We think DS is allergic to peanuts too, but aren't certain. He had a reaction last week to some Asian food and the only new ingredient was peanut oil. I can't imagine all those thing.. Poor little one. Good luck with the allergist! Keep us updated.

    7/5/11 MC at 8 weeks. 5/17/12 BFP, twins EDD 1/20/13! 6/20/12 Baby B's heart has stopped beating. 8/31/12 Baby A is a boy! And is perfectly healthy and thriving. 1/19/2013 emergency c-section, Thoren is perfect. 3/1/2013 told i will never be able to conceive again. 12/16/13 told they were wrong!

    Sorry you're going through all that! Hopefully they will send you on to the allergist and they can give you more information about what you're looking at and what can be done. Thinking of you! Please let us know how it goes!

    My pedi said DS couldn't be tested until he was 2. Maybe I need to ask again. We haven't had the number of reactions as your DD, but I'd still like to know.

    Well, the guy we saw today informed me that sometimes people with sensitive skin/eczema (like DD) will get hives from like, the wind, so it was probably just irritation from urine today. Hurrah. Also, the pedi allergist won't see her before one per our convo today. Will not.

    Sigh. I mean, she hasn't had a life-threatening reaction yet, but I'm pretty stinking terrified to give her new foods, try new medicines, lotions, detergents...I never know when the next thing is going to be a HUGE deal, ya know? She had an allergic to reaction to peanuts because *I* ate them...ugh.

    Well, her 12mo appt is coming up, then I'll get the number for allergist guy, call right away, and take the first appointment.

    On the plus side, kiddo polished off a whole pouch for lunch today for the first time in her life, so YAY MILLIE!!!!!

    Also, thank you all so much! I always feel terrible complaining about her allergies and skin because clearly, there are much worse things we could be dealing with, but I have to talk about it or I'll implode! So thank you. :-)

    Aaaand now she's puking. 3 times in the last 4hrs. I think it's from her first exposure to "mixed greens". :-(

    Sorry, that's gotta be tough. I worry about DD being lactose intolerant or trying to figure out what's causing her belly aches. But nothing like what you're going through. Can't believe they are making you wait those few weeks till her 1yr check up. I hope she's ok and has stopped puking :(

    Thanks, @loreeann86. She held down her last nursing and has been fine for 2 hours, so here's hoping. I hope you figure out what's going on with your beauty soon!

    That stinks they will not see her now with the number of rreactions. Really, what will a few weeks do? I am frustrated for you. I hope she is able to keep more down and you get answers soon. Keep us posted!!

    Well, after a small vomit episode at 8:30 or so, she was fine and nursed great at 12:30 and 4 (as usual), but three up a TON at 6. I seriously have no clue how so much was still in there after 2 hours. Anyway, it's about 10am and she's been good since then. I said to DH "nobody's allergic to spinach" and he wasn't so sure, so I looked it up. Well, spinach is one of the top of the list of vegetables to be allergic to. So, we'll add that to the list of things to ask about and avoid it for now. Sigh.
