Felt like a horrible mom

Last night, j was sooo fussy. We thought it was because she was exhausted-she only had one nap the entire day-we tried rocking, bottle, her swing, switching between the two of us, and nothing would work. DH finally got her to sleep from a mix of rocking and her finally just tiring herself out. Tonight, I was playing with her and noticed a little white spot on the bottom of her mouth-she has a tooth that finally popped up. DH and I think that was why she was so mad last night. I feel horrible, cause if I would have known that, I would have given her some teething gel and/or baby aspirin. Tonight, I made sure to love on her a lot, but I still feel a little terrible.

  • Aww, you're not a bad mom! You did everything you could, you can't always tell when they're going to they're going to pop teeth.

  • You're a great mommy. You did everything you could think of to care and love you baby. If something is happening and we don't know, we just don't know. I always say it's so hard just not knowing
  • Don't be too hard on yourself, there's no way you could have known!  but fyi aspirin is a big no-no for babies bc of the possibility of reye's syndrome. Not nit picking or anything i just wanted to make sure you were aware.

  • Awww. You're doing great! But I hate when I cannot figure out why MJ is crying. I will keep this in mind the next time I can't calm him down and feel inside his little mouth! Poor mama, and poor baby.

  • Gavel shhhhhhh...I'm sure she wasn't going to give aspirin. A lot of people say aspirin like I say coke...it is a word for all soft drinks. But who the eff am I.

@Gavel, I meant baby ibuprofen, not aspirin, but thanks for the heads up, I didn't know about that.

That's the hard part about it was that I was just so frusterated not knowing why she was upset, and now, I feel a little bad since she was in pain from the tooth. She's doing good now today and has been playing all day.
