He should be clean, right?

What do you mean clean? Your question is kinda weird. It's like your asking for some drama. There is no way any one of here would know the health of your unborn child. Google it. I'm sure you'll get a wide range of opinions. If you're feeling guilty just be glad you didn't use crack or something like that. But also remember you we're smoking during the most important part of his development. Who knows what that did to him.

Well, considering that no one has been stupid enough to do a study on what pot does to a fetus, we can't answer you. Would he pass a piss test? Yes. Is he going to have any lasting affects? Who knows? You may well have screwed your kid up because you wanted to party. Don't post that you did something this childish, stupid, and ill-advised and expect not to get flamed for it. I hope your kid is healthy, for his sake. I used to smoke too, but when I got pregnant I put my big girl panties on and started worrying more about my kid's well being than my desire to have an awesome time watching The Simpsons and eating Doritos.

Every time they take blood at your prenatal appointments, they test for drugs. So they already know. They will probably call CPS when you give birth. I know this because I work for the DSS in my state. We get newborn crises for drugs a lot and very often it was from using early in their pregnancy. However, they will probably close the case by testing you and the baby's meconium at birth and as long as you pass nothing will happen. More of a slap on the wrist since it's just pot. However, I feel this post is a joke just to get a rise out of people.

No, I don't think you can positivly tell me shit, but I asked for help. On wether or not you think his poo will test clean. I know my mistakes, k? We've all made them, and we've all been worried about out comes, & I'm sure when you've had questions, you asked.

Well, I can't answer for anyone else but I specifically told you matter-of-fact what will happen. If you stop smoking, you'll be clean. However, in my state they test at every prenatal appointment and if anything shows up they call CPS at birth. I'm not sure what else you want from us.

I'm actually shocked by all these responses. I thought these forums were designed for women to be supportive, encouraging and informative. Although I don't smoke and never have, I don't believe it's any different then if you drank and didn't know you were pregnant. Based on studies I have read, there is always a risk of mental development delays or disabilities due to women's actions, especially in the 1st trimester. However, if your prenatal screenings and ultrasounds look good then it should give you a little piece of mind. Being responsible for essentially creating a child for 9 months is stressful and scary enough, I think what you need is encouragement. What's done is done, you can only focus on the future.

It takes 3-10 days with one time use. 30-45 days in frequent users. And up to 90 days in chronic users. That is usually with a urine or blood test. I think if they test your hair you are screwed. That's just you.

If the baby shows signs of any impairment then they might test the baby. I have no idea how THC is retained in fetal tissue/blood. I imagine it would be unethical for the average scientist to find out, you know?

Why would you smoke pot during pregnancy? You know there are other methods to cure nausea, pain-- you name it. It's irresponsible & if the doctors suspect baby is doped or suffering from your drug use they can get CPS involved.

I just don't understand. 9 months. It's not forever!

What I don't understand is if you were so worried about your child's well being in July why didn't you quick smoking when you found out? I'm starting to think the only thing you cared about was saving your job since you were worried about being flagged on a drug test. I would be very worried about CPS getting involved if you have infact still been smoking and your child has any results from it. If you have no self control now..what are you going to do when your child arrives? Get high because you can't take the crying. I suggest you get yourself some help before your baby comes.

Your math does not make sense. You just posted that you are due in March.

You posted back in July that you had just found out the day before that you were pregnant.

4 months= 16 weeks. Let's give you the benefit of the doubt and say the post was made on 7/30 (because I can't see the OP date).

That would give you an EDD in mid-January. Even if you were only 12 weeks when you made that post, your EDD would be in February, not March.

Not completely true, I did. When I found out I was pregnant with DD I was barely 23 and living the college lifestyle. I was only about 4 weeks along and I quit smoking and drinking cold turkey. DD is 14 months today and I haven't smoked since I found out, I also haven't been drunk since then either... My whole life changed and I changed with it, into a responsible adult.

OP I don't get how you go halfway through a pregnancy and don't realize you are pregnant, that baffles me completely. Never at my craziest was I that out of it.
That being said now that you know you need to shape up and grow up. Your life just got real and you are about to become a mother charged with creating a new human. Its a big responsibility and you have a lot of maturing to do. Chances are you wont be drug tested but you still need to quit using any and all substances immediately.

Get some health insurance because you and your baby may have complications due to the drug use. Your child may also need therapies after birth as well to help heal any of the damage the drug use has caused.

You should also think about going to college or some kind of vocational school as well. A minimum wage job just isn't going to cut it and will make life far more difficult for both of you, especially if your child has medical problems.

Where is the father? If he is a loser don't bother it will just complicate things. If he has potential as a parent you should probably get him involved in this since its his kid and his responsibility as well.

Your life is about to drastically change and you need to be ready for it. Educate yourself and grow a thicker skin. You get all bent out of shape when a random internet stranger calls you dumb, just think about when your teenager screams "I hate you" in your face. Your world has changed and if you can't handle it you need to consider other options.

Based on what I've been reading in this thread and the other one she started, she was smoking pot and knew she was pregnant.

So, again, she needs to go to the trailer park.

Your baby's meconium will test positive for THC. Meconium begins to form between 12-16 weeks. Pretty much any drug used during or after that time can be detected by testing a sample at birth.

Marijuana exposure in utero can cause poor performance on various IQ tests as well behavioral problems.

You will be better off if you are honest with your doctor and any one who questions your drug use. Lying or trying to hide it will just make matters worse.
