Referral question

edited January 2014 in Military Families

Hey every one, I haven't posted over here in awhile... But I have a question, if you all don't mind.

I've been seeing my OB on base for a little over a year now due to infertility. However, I believe I have gone as far as I can with her, and I would like to go to an RE. My question is, when requesting a referral to an RE, do I need to do that through my OB, or through my PCP?

If you have any insight on the steps I need to take, I would greatly appreciate it.

Re: Referral question

  • In my experience it varies. I received mine from my PCP, but a friend in the same hospital/clinic received hers from her OB.

  • If you're already under the care of your OB then you go through her

  • Okay, so It looks like everyone has a different experience here, lol.

I guess i'll just call my PCP, and see what they think? Feels like im cheating on my doctor though...
