Any cute ideas for the holidays? My big U/S is tomorrow so I will know. ?Family has no idea about the big U/S. ?As a matter of a fact I told a little white lie that i won't know until after the holiday's. ?hehe I am wrong. ?
I bought an "It's a boy" ornament for my ILs to open Christmas morning.
A nestie posted a few days ago about a friend who had a cake made with blue filling in it to announce that she was having a boy. I thought that was cute. Since I am a baker I like the idea of something edible like cake or cookies to share the news.
you could bring a dessert to your family gathering - do cupcakes and spell out "It's a boy/girl!" or a cake - maybe it's not very "Christmasy" but something fun. Or I've seen other gals on here mention they've worn a t-shirt that says "it's a boy/girl" and just let people react when they take off their coat.
I'm waiting to announce our baby girl on Christmas too. I found these packages of Hershey's Kisses that say "It's a Girl", and I'm going to put that along with a framed picture of the ultrasound that says the same, as well as a balloon in a box and wrap it like a normal gift. Both of our mom's are over dramatic and when they open the box I can see DH mom screaming her head off when the balloon pops out of the box.
I found out last week and mailed all of my family pink snowflake ornaments with Princess ribbon and a home-made tag that says "It's a Girl!" We told our family that we were not going to find out the sex of the baby until after the holidays too, so they will be very surprised!
We lied about the date of the u/s, too. After we found out, we took a box to each of the parents' houses. We told them about the u/s and that they get to be surprised, too. When they opened the box, they found a little pink and white dress. It had the effect I was looking for.
i think we're making puzzles for everyone to put together to announce the sex...not sure if i can actually hold out until the puzzles arrive to the appropriate houses, but i'm going to try!
We told everybody that we'd hopefully find out today but that they'd have to wait til we get together for Christmas to find out. We have miniature stockings and are putting mini blue baby ornaments (that we ran upon in walmart) and an Almond Joy in the stockings with a note that says "Almond Joy has nuts, Mounds don't" and a copy of the u/s all in their stockings - we are having a boy of course! Giving everyone a stocking...
