Just curious: how often have you had your urine tested at your appointments by your OB or midwife? I have read conflicting information about what to expect at your appointment. Personally, I've only been asked to once at my very first appointment and then when I went in yesterday to test for a suspected UTI (which was positive... boooo). Should I anticipate more peeing in a cup in my upcoming appointments? Thanks, ladies!

ETA: Quick Google Scholar search reveals that the benefits of checking at every visit are hotly in dispute. Seems there is no evidence it's helpful in actually diagnosing pre-e ---- BP and other labs are more helpful. But providers do it anyway, 'cuz that's how they were trained. And everyone is arguing about it. Which is pretty much par for the course in medicine-land!
I tried to link a bunch of the articles I found then TB ate my post so I give up. But you too can Google Scholar!
"Screening to predict preeclampsia beyond taking an appropriate medical history to evaluate for risk factors is not recommended."

I am giggling about the places that make you bring in your first morning pee lol... makes me picture women walking into a doctor's office and giving nods to fellow pregos because they know they're in the clique on account of the pee cup haha
