I am not sure if this is a UO- but I think it might be for some people.
I don't want to fast forward time AT ALL but I've already been thinking about J's first Birthday- theme, invites, what he's going to wear. I think a first birthday is something to be celebrated- J will have gone through so much development by the time he is 1. Going from a newborn to a baby that will be starting to walk and talk- it's pretty amazing.
While I know he isn't going to remember it- he will have photos to look at when he is older and there are a lot of babies in my close group of girlfriends- 8 under 2 by August 2014- so I don't see the issue on inviting close friends and family to celebrate. I think a lot of people tend to think these young birthdays should be celebrated with just family.
girlll..... I've already got N's 1st birthday planned out and it's going to be a big fancy bash. Everyone knows that the first birthday is for the parents anyways because the kids aren't going to remember squat.
I've got it all planned down to the invitations and the favors. I'm a nut job and crazy excited about it. I don't want him to be 1 just yet, but I'm having fun planning the party and organizing all the details.
I'm on a few marketplace boards on FB. I'm legitimately scared of our future with the way some of those people type. Not just using text talk, that I hate, but can't spell commonly spelled words.
I am not sure if this a huge UO, but I would rather get up at 5 am every morning with LO, then wake up with her in the middle of the night then have her sleep in later. Getting up in the middle of the night throws me off, because I can never go right back to sleep. When she's up for the day at 5, I know I can score morning snuggles, and just have an extra cup of coffee.
Oh I am the opposite. When my LO was STTN, I may have said out loud that I'd rather my LO wake up once or twice but sleep in. Well now he is up once or twice and up early so I deserve that.
@jessicaivana so not alone. I started a Pinterest board this week. I'm thinking and under the sea/mermaid theme.
I have my Pinterest board set on private so a) people don't think I'm nuts and b) so that the guests will be surprised at the theme. Man, I'm really a dork - haha.
Ooh maybe this is flameworth IDK, but for homeboy's first birthday I have every intention on taking him to Hooters and taking pictures with all of the waitresses. It will probably be DH, me, my dad, and my brother.

That a a great idea to hide the board so the guests don't know what to expect. I have pinned Lego themes, pirate themes, and under the sea.

I'm using S's upcoming baptism reception as practice.

That's my plan! More sea, then mermaid. I am in love with sea horses and star fish! For her present I hope to get a year pass to the aquarium and take her to Sea World! I started my board last month!
Baby related UO: I like boys clothing better than girls. I think it's cute when babies are dressed as adults and boys have more options is that sense. I don't think it's any coincidence that the best dressed babes on our board are boys.
NBR: I can't stand two of "Americas Sweethearts": Roberts and Aniston.

I love spongebob, and am totally fine with LO watching a little spongebob....I also don't think her brain will fall out and shrivel up into barncles because of spongebob.
I am going to do a reptile theme for L I think. It will be small because don't really know anyone to go but that's no excuse not to have fun with it. Not sure if I am going to do a variety of reptiles yet or focus on crocadilians.
@Wjoyner08 I love an ocean theme but Sea World makes me X( and (
My UO is I am finding these generic avatars kinda funny. Especially seeing a whole ton of the same listed for the "love it". Yeah...my sense of humor is a little juvenile.
Here's a popular opinion apparently... at least on this board.. I will also be doing an "Under the Sea" or "Finding Nemo" theme... we might need to start a thread... says the girl who loves to start threads.

@coconuthead, I get the anger and tears, if there was any where else close I could go to share my love of large marine animals with Z I would!!!
This is a big possiblity for my LO's first birthday as well. My husband and I are both from Louisiana and all of our family live there so we will probably go home for LO's first birthday. That and the fact that I have several crawfish farmers in my family.....well almost every occasion is a crawfish boil back home.
I'm from Louisiana too! Half of my family still live there so I know all about regularly occurring crawfish boils.
@crazed178 No, you can't break tradition! King cakes are always acceptable. How else will you properly celebrate Mardi Gras?! I need to get one too and some beignets.

We used to be fine with it my 3 year old recently started saying "ugh, I am surrounded by idiots". A direct quote from squidward.
I hate this gluten free fad, if you think you have celiacs take a blood test
And
I double hate when people say they are doing a gluten free diet and feel soooooo much better when they've only been trying it for 2 weeks or only partially like they allow themselves to have a gluten beer

LOL! When my baby sister was six, she copied squidward by saying "oh my aching tentacles!!!" Except she actually said *testicles* ha!
Spongebbob is definitely for older kids, but I'm ok with LO watching the occasional episode.

Gluten is not the root of all health ailments
