TallAsh maybe it's bs to you but it's not to me and I have a right to consider whatever I want to be urgent---especially considering I am on a time crunch. It's always interesting to me when people are miserable enough to take time to type out a pissy response, hit post, and never stop to think about why they can't just be polite to a stranger. The Internet is not an excuse to be a foul human being
Op, perhaps you could re-title your post "urgent question about grooming down there for appointment". I think most women read your title thinking it was something a lot more serious than pubic hair. Of course that is something important to you but it isn't at the same level as medical questions or hard news about fetal conditions etc.
No they are not going to do a vaginal exam, unless you are currently having issues that may cause them to think your cervix maybe changing.
This also isn't an urgent matter! But to put your mind at ease, they don't even look, you are covered and they slip their hand under a blanket, they'll never know of your waxed, shaved, all natural!

wow... you care more about your ob finding hair on/near your vagina than you do about use of the word URGENT... interesting, glad I know what your definition of a foul human being is...
Considering the fact that we are all in the final weeks of our pregnancies, and we've had lots of L&D scares and multiple early births (INCLUDING a baby born at 28 weeks), I think it's really tasteless for OP to lump this in as "Urgent", even if she meant it as a joke.
After an "urgent" trip to L&D last night with very regular contractions at 30w this post makes me laugh. Will you stop by the salon to get waxed on your way in for early contractions or if your water breaks suddenly? They don't care what you have going on down there as long as its clean. But to answer your original question most 28w are just GD and measurement/HB.
When I gave birth prematurely, I wasn't shaved because I didn't think I would be giving birth that early...my docs saw a completely full bush, and enough hair on my legs to braid it and they didn't run screaming from the room and I honestly could not have cared less about the state of my nether regions.
I'm not trying to be mean, but pregnancy is messy, uncomfortable, embarrassing, and often your lady bits are on display for anyone in a white coat or scrubs (and there will be plenty of them entering your room during labor). I can understand wanting to be groomed and fresh for an annual, but at this point in our pregnancies, if you're not comfortable with a little extra pubic hair at a routine appt (which they won't even see as PPs pointed out, they pretty much just feel under the sheet) then you're in for a rude awakening when it comes to labor.

I will admit I shave before every appointment, just in case. My husband is glad I have frequent appointments b/c I never shave otherwise. And, yes, I'm ignoring all of the back and forth. Except for the chocolate fudge. I really really want chocolate fudge now.
If you are really concerned about it why didn't you just call your dr and ask them?? Everyone's dr is different. And if you are again, really concerned about a dr seeing some hair, then make sure you are trimmed up before going to your REGULAR appointments at a VAGINA dr.
Also, matters that are urgent don't usually involve the phrase "lol" in them
My mom thought LOL meant "lots of love" and would put it at the end of everything...even really serious things. I think once she put it behind someone being REALLY sick..."so and so is really not doing well, keep them in your prayers. LOL"
We had to break it to her that it doesn't mean that and sounds totally inappropriate behind a lot of things. Hahahaahha

@wearebirds, did you submit it to Damnyouautocorrect.com because I saw one on there that was very similar. It was like, "Grandma passed away today LOL."

This made it on Ellen too. If it was you berry30, you and your mom are totes famous! Lol
I am just happy to see that it wasn't actually urgent. I let a little sigh of relief out for you, OP, knowing that you and baby weren't in dangers way. I wondered the same thing for my 28, and nothing was done. However I had to quickly go to the ER due to issues over Christmas and I was surprised at how much I didn't care how I looked when they had to do their "thang" . I get that it's a little different with your OB though because you have built a relationship with them.
Re: Urgent question regarding 28 week appt
Also, this is not urgent. This is silly, vain, and unimportant.
RIP Dr. Irving Fishman - 10/1/19-7/25/10 - thank you for holding on for me.
You made my wedding day complete.
I have an urgent question...
Should I have S'Mores or Chocolate Fudge Pop Tarts for breakfast? Hurry guys, I need to know NOW.

Pubic hair is never an emergency.

Because we are so hormonal, duh!!
Oh and haiiiii @NariaDreaming!
2) Do you seriously think nurses/doctors have nothing better to do than judge you based on your pubic hair?
