What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?

What's something impressive you want to do one day?

What are a few of your talents?

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
Joined the military, scuba dived, cliff jumped, blown stuff up at work (so fun!)

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I don't have any current goals that I think are impressive

What are a few of your talents?
I know how to play the flute, and I read music better than the music director of my singing group

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?
One tattoo on my ankle, ears pierced once but I want a second set

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
DH likes to tell embarrassing stories about me, however I don't LOL! But a recent one I"m willing to tell would be when I got sick on an airplane during approach/landing, throwing up one time into one of those nice little barf bags they put in the seat pocket in front of you. Once I got off the plane and into the terminal, I really wanted some french fries. I had a plain bagel and soup instead. I was at the end of 1Tri, and it was the single time I've gotten sick this entire pg. My Dad found it especially funny, asking how Ralph and I were doing.

What's one thing you're proud of?
Completing Basic Training and 8 years in the Army Reserve. Also, going to a civilian course to be an unexploded ordnance tech (it's sort of a specialty environmental remediation job), where I learned how to identify military ordnance, know how ordnance functions, and how to handle and use explosives.

ETA to clarify I'm entry-level civilian trained for the uxo work, not military trained for it like DH was.

Good one @Kate070! (Although mine will maybe still be a little less exciting than most. :-)

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
LOL. I asked DH if I've ever done anything crazy or gutsy and he shook his head no. :-) I can think of one pretty gutsy followed by slightly crazy thing, but way too long to explain.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I'd like to become fluent in Hungarian. It's extremely difficult, but I have a start! I'd also like to do a lot more traveling, particularly in central and eastern Europe, and possibly have an apartment in Hungary that we would lease out to a university student during the school year and use ourselves (and for friends) in the summer.

I'd also like to complete a mini (sprint) triathlon someday!

What are a few of your talents?
I can (or at least used to- it's been a few years) at the clarinet extremely well. I majored in clarinet performance, and at the time I attended my university was one of the top music schools in the country. I played in several youth orchestras in high school and attended camp at Interlochen (very well-known arts camp) twice. In college I did a summer study abroad where I studied and performed in Switzerland as part of a chamber music festival.
I've been told I can sing, but one of my best friends is an actual opera singer/voice professor and another was a music theater major, so I have a hard time agreeing when I have such amazing vocalists as close friends.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos? Crazy hair? Quirky features? Nope.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
DH and I were first married and it was close to Christmas. We were in the car and the song "I Saw Mommy Kissing Santa Claus" came on the radio. I said something to DH about how much I hated it because the mom was totally cheating on her husband and how creepy it was that she was kissing Santa. (And the poor kid witnessing it!) DH couldn't help laughing at me and I felt really dumb when he explained that "Santa" was the dad dressed up.

What's one thing you're proud of?
DH and I travel to Hungary on a fairly regular basis, and part of our travels include putting on summer camp for orphans and children in high poverty. It's a huge blessing to be a part of bringing them a week of fun and letting them know that people care. We keep in touch with some of the older kids and try to continue to be a positive influence in their lives.

Edit: Forgot a goal and can't type on my phone.

@CamrynnsMommy, I actually had a medical job when I was in the Reserve so I went to Ft. Sam Houston. I should clarify that the ordnance job is as a civilian. I took a 4-week course in Texas for that job.

However, my husband was ordnance in the military, he was EOD. He has been to Redstone many times for training. He's qualified to do this job we do (we're called UXO techs) because he was EOD, and he can go as high up as running a full job site. I could go as high as running a team, if I stayed in the field long enough.

What did you do in the military? I was medical records. I spent 3 months in Kuwait in 2003.

  •  What are a few of your talents? I'm pretty crafty, I enjoy DIY projects. I also have a ridiculous knack for remembering numbers, like all SSNs for myself, kids, H, etc.

    Ugh this quote box!!!

Me Too!! That's so funny to mention that. I know my mom's, dad's, DH's, mine, and an old high school friend's (which I'm sure she loves considering we don't really speak anymore!). ;)

I originally went in to be EOD, but at MEPS they told me that job was filled and the closest to it was Ammo Specialist. I did AIT at Redstone, then went to Ft. Campbell on active, then Iraq from 05-06, then got preg and transferred to a Reserve unit.

My H was a medic in the Army also.

Its all fun and games until someone gets their hair caught! I actually told this story to my K class last year and they BEGGED me to get on a scooter board during their gym class. I literally had not been on one since that event. So I am proud to say, I got back on the scooter board and my hair did not get caught this time!

  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
Got married to my ex husband...after dating for exactly 1 week. Yep, not proud of that one. But we were together for 4 years.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I was actually in the process of joining the military when I got pregnant. So I'm planning on joining again after I deliver.

What are a few of your talents?
I've been told I'm a good cook! I am also good at memorizing stuff. For example, I never studied in college, passed all my classes with A's with simply attending class, paying attention and taking notes.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos? Crazy hair? Quirky features?
I have a butterfly on my shoulder blade, for my BFF that passed away when we were teens. I also have an Arabic quote on my thigh. Piercings, at the moment I only have my earlobes. But, I've had my tongue, my nose, my navel and my lip pierced.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
Well, there is the time when I was a toddler. My mom left me in the truck outside my grandmas house. I changed the gears on the truck and proceeded to go back. My mom ran and hung on to stop me before I got to the street.
Then, there is the time I burned my bangs off while looking inside a candle.
Last but not least, the time I was curious about the damn candle. Put toilet paper in it and when it lit up, I freaked out. Not knowing what to do, I threw it in the trash can (full of papers) and that lit up. I started screaming and my dad came to the rescue. Lol

What's one thing you're proud of?
Being a mommy, no doubt. It took so many years of trying, and so many tears. I honestly thought it was not going to happen, ever. She's my everything!

DH had to go through the Ammo Specialist course before EOD school, even though he already had an MOS from the Reserve. DH did his time at Bragg.

They increased the EOD field when they expanded the size of the units, and then allowed people to enlist direct for EOD (it used to be open to prior service only) so that might have contributed to the field filling up.

Are you still in the Reserve? Part of me wanted to stay in (did my 8, got out in 2003), but with DH active duty at the time I didn't want to deal with the challenges that could have come if we were dual military. I miss it sometimes, but other times I'm glad we're both out.

  • I did think of a quirky body thing. My left pinky finger is permanently bent/crooked. When I was fifteen I fell off my horse on our gravel driveway and he stepped on my hand. Scar tissue around the tendons is why it will no longer straighten.

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?

I did indie wrestling. Kinda embarrassing, but I think its cool that I can say I've been thrown off the top rope. It's obvious I was raised around a bunch a boys..,lol

What's something impressive you want to do one day?

Figure out how to be great at both my career and being a mom simultaneously.

What are a few of your talents?

I do print design (I design stuff from business cards all the way to billboards) and like to build computers in my spare time.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?

Two tattoos. Unfortunate tattoos. Did anyone ever notice that Cancer's astrology sign looks a lot like a 69? Yeahhh, I didn't notice that until after I got the tattoo. Fun times.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

During high school graduation, I walked onto the stage from the wrong side. I was the first in my row and hadn't played attention to where everyone else had walked on, so yeah, I led my entire row in the wrong direction. Good thing all my friends and family were there to witness that.

What's one thing you're proud of?

I volunteer at a haunted house as a scare actor for my community theater each year and each season I've made at least one grown man cry.

  • @redinlove I finished my 8 last year. I don't miss the reserves at all, I was stuck in a medical unit. I really miss being on active, I miss the barracks parties and just the comradery. I'm glad I didn't stay though, after I had DD1, my unit deployed five additional times. I couldn't do that with a kid.

What are a few of your talents?

Piano and guitar, although I am way out of practice.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?

One tattoo on my foot.  Nose pierced and ears pierced a few times.  Hair is pretty boring now, but it has been many colors in the past.  I have a big nose and ass.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

A few years ago on a work retreat, everybody had been drinking, some more than others… and I had been swimming in this lake right by the buildings we were staying in.  A couple of my guy friend coworkers walked me back to my room and after they left I took off my wet bathing suit.  As soon as I had taken it off, they knocked on the door because one of them had left their phone on the dresser.  I told them to hold on a second and wrapped a towel around myself to open the door, but when I opened it, I fell backwards, dropping the towel.  So I was laying there completely naked.  They were like :O  grabbed the phone and left.  Thankfully they're both close friends.  It would have been much more embarrassing it were anyone else.

What's one thing you're proud of?

Got through my undergrad degree with a 4.0

@QOTR- I have never done a tri either.  I used to be a swimmer in high school and I run now, but it is the biking that freaks  me out!  I figured I will attack it the same way I did the marathon.  I started with a 5K and built from there and I will do the same thing with a sprint tri.

ETA- I started running the year I turned 26.  I was on swim team in high school to avoid running.  I am so amazed that I ever felt that way!
  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
Pursuing my DH was pretty gutsy for me. He walked into the bar I was at and I was literally like "RAWR :x mine!"

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
This is a tough one, I would love to get in great physical shape. All you runners are inspiring!

What are a few of your talents?
I've been sewing since I was about 7, and I'm a really good cook...and people usually think I'm pretty funny.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos? Crazy hair? Quirky features?
Oh boy, no tattoos yet (by some miracle)...pretty much all my piercings are out now but at one point I had like every ear piercing ever (rook, tragus, conch, cartilage, 3 in each lobe...) and my eyebrow and both nipples

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
I really can't think of anything! I know I got something

My husband is a first generation Hungarian immigrant, so I'm curious: why Hungary and Hungarian? Are you of Hungarian descent?

I ask becaue I am learning Hungarian, and I find the language complex and beguiling. With only 3 verb tenses I feel as though it should be easier, but the 5 bazillion vowels are a source of constant confusion and frustration.

  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
I am generally a "goodie two shoes" and don't do anything crazy. And when I consider something being "crazy" it is usually pretty tame... 14 years ago when I was in college, I lived in Michigan. I had been on some online message boards as a fan of Joe McIntyre from NKOTB. It was announced that he was putting on a New Year's concert in his hometown of Boston. Well, I didn't know anyone out there, I didn't have money, and I had lived a sheltered life in a small town (we didn't even have a movie theater). I decided I was going to Boston on a Greyhound bus and was going to stay with someone from one of the message boards. I did NOT have any sort of friendship w the person, I just found out she lived in Boston (in a basement) and she was going to the concert. So... I took my BF (now DH) and we rode out there on the bus, stayed with this girl in her basement room (which smelled horrible), and met up with some other message board people that I didn't know. I became friendly IRL with 2 of the girls I met. But we had no car, no hotel, no money other than a little for food, and if something went wrong wouldn't have had anywhere to stay. DH was not 21 yet so he couldn't go to the concert and had to walk around Boston (Y2K)- They had shut down the subway thing there and people were all going nuts. He was wearing shiny pleather pants and a blue mesh shirt from Hot Topic, lol. I will never forget going out there and doing that, but it was something waaaay out of my comfort zone. I would be upset if my child did something like that.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I'm not sure. I am 35 and still don't know what I want to do when I grow up. I have two different college degrees and don't really want to have a career in either area. If I could do whatever I wanted without regard to having income, I'd probably be a museum curator, or something to do with art history. That was what I loved in college but I decided to be practical and get a degree in something more "usable". I like what I do in general, but it is a lot more stressful than I thought it would be, and I do not feel like I want to worry all of the time like I do now. So I'd like to do something low stress. I know that isn't impressive at all....
Actually, I would love to open a child development pre-school. I have a background in psychology and I love kids. I also attended a school like this when I was young. I can imagine doing enriching activities, serving organic/natural foods, etc. I feel like it is our responsibility as adults to help the next generations reach their full potential and guide them toward being their best selves. That is just a fantasy though, I don't see how I could ever make this my reality.

What are a few of your talents?
I used to take dance, started at age 3 but I was never very serious about it. I could have been a lot better if I had applied myself but I lacked the passion. I'm very flexible naturally, and my pediatrician used to take me to other doctors to display my unusual flexibility. I did ballet and tap.  When I was older (8th grade maybe?) I started figure skating and it seemed to come naturally to me. I LOVED IT. When my parents could see how happy it made me and how quickly I was learning, they bought me good skates and I started skating at 5 different rinks (we had to drive 1-2 hours to get to each one). I took group and private lessons, and it got to the point where I had a high level coach. The coach was Christopher Bowman (Olympic skater himself) and the coach told me I had a "world class spiral", and wanted me to move in with him and his family in order to train hardcore. I didn't do it, but sometimes I wonder what would have happened if I did. I actually quit taking lessons shortly after that, and just skated for pleasure.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?
I have the "traditional" piercings, just one in each earlobe. My hair is crazy by default- naturally curly. But I don't do anything funky with it, I don't even dye it. My body is... not how I wish it were. When I quit skating I gained a lot of weight. I'm actually morbidly obese now and it really bothers me. It seems like no matter what I do the weight wants to stay. I usually eat well and try to exercise, although I've been slaking on exercise lately. I think if I was an appropriate weight I would be much healthier and happier. But I think I'm pretty despite my large body.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
Um.... nothing? I am not a very comical person.

What's one thing you're proud of?
I'm proud of being myself, I am proud of being close with my family and would do anything for them. I'm proud to be a good person (most of the time!) and that I'm very caring and empathetic.

  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done? I used to do stand-up comedy in college and right after. I'm generally on the shy side, but I find being in front of strangers with a bright light in your face is not as terrifying as performing in front of people you know!

What's something impressive you want to do one day? Not that impressive, but me and DH want to drive across the country. I'd also like to get in good enough shape to run a race, like a tough mudder or something.

What are a few of your talents? I sing (in a band and also just for fun, like karaoke), I do accents and imitations, and I am good at interpreting dreams.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features? No piercings beyond a few in the ears, but I have 5 tattoos. I would love to do something crazy/different with my hair someday but I always chicken out.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh? My bachelorette party got into a brawl with another bachelorette party. Basically the other girls started it because they didn't like that we were there (apparently in Atlantic City, only one bachelorette party is allowed to be in a bar at one time by their standards. Haha). The girls who started it ended up getting thrown out of the bar, and a few mins later my friends left voluntarily and waited out in the casino for me. They had all left their shoes by the stage on the dancefloor so I scooped everyone's shoes up. And then I felt bad that my friends got into a physical altercation in my honor and I got the drunk-cries. So imagine a bachelorette adorned with slutty clothes and penis garb, crying, carrying 7 pairs of high heels through a casino. Totally ridiculous. It was a few years ago and it still makes us laugh until we cry talking about it!

What's one thing you're proud of? Being a homeowner. It's scary as shiite sometimes but it is very rewarding to make changes and put effort into something you own. I can't wait for LO to come and for us to build our family there.

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done? Traveled to Bogota, Colombia on my own to visit a friend for a week.  We hopped around all over and stayed at various houses.

What's something impressive you want to do one day? Publish a book

What are a few of your talents? Writing.  I have really enjoyed writing poetry and prose since about second grade.  I try to blog as often as possible...ish...  (shameless plug)

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features? Recently took my lip ring out... but have 8 tattoos and can't imagine stopping now.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh? Once in the restroom at a Texas Roadhouse I was in a stall between 2 elderly women who were friends.  They apparently thought they were next to each other as one reached into my stall and asked the other one for some toilet paper.  The other woman grabbed a wad and reached her hand under my stall and I did a phantom paper pass.  I quickly cleaned up and left before either of them had exited their stalls.  I wish I could have seen the looks on their faces.

What's one thing you're proud of? I'm proud of my relationship with my husband and the involvement we have with the teens in our church.  We work with some awesome kids who have given us an opportunity to share our past mistakes in hopes that they will choose a better life.  I truly believe everything happens for a reason and that the things my husband and I have faced in our lives were to be able to offer insight to these kids who are dealing with very similar issues.

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done? ** Skinny dipping, driving with no headlights on a country road, racing... hillbilky country stuff ;)

What's something impressive you want to do one day? **Hmm not sure! I want to be in federal law enforcement. Does that count? I want to see the remaining states I haven't been to. I like to travel.

What are a few of your talents?** awesome cook, I can shoot better than almost anyone I know, I can speak a few languages.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos? I have two tattoos. One star on my hip and one that says, "amour de tout votre coeur" that starts with a dandelion blowing in the wind, then floats across my back into birds flying away. Hope I'm explaining that in a way that makes sense. Its on my upper back. I have my ears pierced. Cant handle piercings but tattoos never hurt me at all.
Crazy hair?  Quirky features? **not really. I have fine/flat hair :(

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh? Oh wow I'm sure there are many. I can't think of any but if I asked I'm sure someone woulde be able to tell me.

What's one thing you're proud of?** considering all the crap I've had to deal with in my past and all the stuff I've been through, I'm doing pretty well. I'm proud of who I am.

  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
The crazy things are pretty much all trips.  I like routine usually and tend to be shy and to stay home a lot, but I've somewhat impulsively decided to be an exchange student and went to Thailand for a year, spend a month in Oregon, and fly to Texas to meet my birth mother.

I'm trying to think of something brave I've done.  I was a nude model for the art class in college because I thought it would be good for me.  Hmm.  When I was in Paris going somewhere with a friend on the metro there was some kind of bomb scare so they stopped all the trains.  (It was about the time there was also a bomb scare in London.)  My friend kind of fell apart, so I figured out how to get us to street level from a subway station big enough to have a subterranean mall, and then got us back to our dorms.

It was probably crazy and brave to host/chaperone my sister's bachelorette party when I was about this pregnant with my son.  When the night was almost over and I was tired and the ladies were starting to get obnoxiously drunk, there was some guy who I guess knew my sister who was being a jerk and flipping the stupid feather boas in my face, and I looked him square in the eye and told him not to touch me.  He was all "whoa, no offense" or whatever, backpedaling and surprised, and I said "we have no problem here as long as you do not touch me."  That felt brave.  Usually I'm the stereotype good girl who says nothing when things are making me uncomfortable.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
Well, now that I can make a good pancake there's nothing more to accomplish.  :)  Seriously though, I want to do a chin-up, run a marathon, and write a novel.  They are relatively small goals, but seem impressive to me.

What are a few of your talents?
I'm usually good at being calm and patient.  (My mom tells the same story over and over, and I just listen instead of giving her a hard time like my sister does.)  Also, I seem to be a pretty good navigator, and I retain trivia well.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?
The thing about my body that seems most interesting is how racially ambiguous I am.  People from all over the Mediterranean have been convinced I'm from wherever they're from.  (Greece, Egypt, Lebanon, Iran, UAE, Israel, and India which seems weird because I'm not that tan and my hair is good but not that pretty.  A man in Spain thought I was either Cuban or Puerto Rican because my Spanish was waaaay better at the time.)

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
Stories of how oblivious I can be are pretty funny.  DH chuckles that whenever something is wrong with my car I always think it's the transmission.  There's also a kind of long story that I can share if anybody is interested about people thinking I was a lesbian in college so much so that I may have accidentally gone on a lesbian date.

What's one thing you're proud of?
I'm an adult with no financial support from my parents.  Both my siblings have had their turn at being supported adult children.  Being financially independent feels very good.
  • What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
Some would like to tell me that commuting to work downtown on a scooter is crazy.  I disagree.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I don't know about impressive, but despite my social anxiety I would like to help people in a more tangible way than simply donating to charity.  Something like provide a safe place for LGBT youth who have run away or been kicked out.  I have always wanted to operate a farm animal sanctuary as well.  One of these days I'm going to finish those Red Cross volunteer classes.

What are a few of your talents?
I'm a decent cook, a competent IT support person, and I played roller derby (somewhat badly) for 3 years.  I can also do mehndi in a variety of traditional and nontraditional styles.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?
I've had my nose, tongue, and lip pierced.  All that remains is two piercings in each earlobe but one of my upper piercings doesn't have anything in it and I'll probably take the one on the other side out.  I started stretching the lower piercings years ago and got to 10ga and I'd like to finish stretching them enough for small tunnels.  As much havoc as my tongue piercing caused on my teeth, I really miss it.  I miss my lip piercing too.

I have very thick, curly hair and I've always hated it.  I frequently shave it off, cut it into a pixie bob, or wear a mohawk.  I'm in an awkward post-'hawk phase right now and I'm trying to decide whether I want to grow it out or chop it off again.  I let it grow during my last pregnancy and it was incredibly lustrous and shiny, which pleased a lot of people, but when it got too long it drove me crazy.

I also have freakishly large calves.  Though I am not even 5'1", these babies make me an excellent high jumper and I set an unofficial #2 record in track in junior high.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
I honestly can't think of one.  Maybe the time we invited our families over for St. Patrick's Day dinner but got too drunk during the parade that morning and forgot to put the corned beef in.  Whoops.

What's one thing you're proud of?
Trying out for and making it into a very competitive (at the time) roller derby league.  Besides childbirth it is the single hardest physical thing I've ever done.  More than a few girls were puking.  It pays to train hard for a few months before attempting this.

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?
This isn't the craziest, but it is the gutsiest...I jumped off a really high (to me) cliff into a lake once. It took me about 30 minutes of standing there and trembling to get up the nerve, but I finally did it, as I had decided I would rather jump to my death than stand on the high cliff any longer. I do not like being up high.

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
I would LOVE to travel to different countries and teach children and help build things. I checked into teaching at a deaf school in Liberia once, but then I gained more and more responsibilities, and no longer felt like I could move to Liberia for two years. Africa would be the first place I'd go.

What are a few of your talents?
I know sign language..which is a learned skill, so I don't know if that counts as talent, but..I enjoy it, so.. :)  I can sing, but I never do it in front of people. I'm not so much afraid of it as I really just hate being the center of attention. Hate. It.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?
I have two tattoos, one on my rib cage and another on my wrist.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?
One of my best friends and I spontaneously decided to pitch a tent at the NASCAR races we were driving by at midnight, once. (Not a NASCAR fan, but it was something to do.) The events that ensued were some I'll never forget, in spite of the Jager machine at the camper next door. I'd mention names of some interesting characters we met there, but one is a doctor, and I'm not trying to get anyone in trouble here. :)

What's one thing you're proud of?
I'm proud of myself for making it through college. I'm not dumb, but I've never been a good student. It took me seven years to trudge my way to a Bachelor's degree, but I'm so glad I stuck with it. I need to go back to school now, but the thought nearly repulses me. Meh.

I went to Woodstock 99 with my girlfriends when i was 17. We rode there in an old minivan. My artistic friend decided to "decorate" the van, and drew the silhouette of a naked woman on it with masking tape. she also wrote "Honk for Tits" When i look at 17 year olds now, i can't imagine how anyone ever let us go. It was insane.

i also studied abroad in australia when i was 19, and that was my first time ever flying. i've done quite a bit of solo traveling, and i actually really enjoy it.

i got myself SCUBA certified when i was single, just as something to do. glad i did, because it really paid off during my honeymoon in St. Lucia. i dove while DH golfed!

What's something impressive you want to do one day?
Write a book. and someone else already said this, but trek to Mount Everest Basecamp. I LOVE mountains, and have read just about every book there is to read about Everest. it's my dream to see the Himalayas in real life.

What are a few of your talents?
I can remember song lyrics and movie/televisions quotes really well (and accurately). I'm good at training dogs.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos? Crazy hair? Quirky features?
Not one piercing, not even my ears. i've only dyed my hair once, and it was a semi permanent dye. I have a big mole on my butt cheek that i've had since i was born, and a beauty mark under my lip.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

My dog Murphy is a bit of a handful. He's deaf and has what i'd consider doggy social anxiety. if he's somewhere new, he won't relax, he'll cry and whine and screech like an asshole. So usually i don't bring him many places. My in laws are Irish, and the way they grew up dogs lived outside. they don't dislike Murph, but I think they are baffled by him. One day they were having a back yard BBQ for the family and i decided to try out bringing Murph over. We took him to the beach first to tire him out, where he proceeded to suck down his weight in ocean water. we got to the BBQ and i put him on his long leash so he could explore the yard. after a few minutes, I noticed my FIL staring at him, and looked to see that he was hunched over in his classic "i'm gonna yak" pose. He then projectile vomited seawater all over the yard, not too far from where my MIL was setting out the food. As if that wasn't bad enough, when he was done, he started circling around and before i could stop him it started coming out the other end. loudly and explosively. all over my FIL's perfect back yard. That was the last time i brought Murph over.

What's one thing you're proud of?
Guess i'm proud of a few things. I can ski pretty well (way better than my DH). I bought my house and a nice car for myself with no help from anyone. I managed to build myself a career in finance and have worked at a prestigious hedge fund for 9 years, despite starting as a temp and having a degree in Journalism. i hate the job now, but it has allowed me to do some cool stuff and get myself into a pretty good place financially, so i'm proud of where i am.

  • Ugh my kid just deleted everything. Let's try again.

What's something crazy or gutsy you've done?

In HS my friend and I flashed a news van in front of our school while they were there shooting a segment on the "race riot" that occurred.
At my bachelorette party I danced on the bar at Coyote Ugly and almost fell off :p

What's something impressive you want to do one day?

I want to get back into riding horses competitively. I had a hard time finding a  schedule after M was born and I know it'll be even harder with 2. I doubt I'll do too much more eventing since I'm way more cautious now that I have kids and the upper level stuff scares me a bit. If I can find a good trainer I'd love to dabble into classical dressage.

I'd also love to either foster rescue horses or have a small rescue operation of my own.

What are a few of your talents?

My main one is horses. I've always been an animal person and horses became my passion as a teenager. I've always had the talent to go as far as I wanted with it, I just lacked the balls and self esteem. I'm also musically talented. I can play the piano, flute, and viola.  I'm a pretty good cook, as well.

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features?

I only have my ears pierced in the normal spot. I want to get tattoos, I just haven't decided on what or where.

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

I honestly can't think of any :/ my memory is terrible right now. I'm sure I'll think of something later!

Being a homeowner...we are almost credit card free and that feels great too!

About your body... any piercings or tattoos?  Crazy hair?  Quirky features? I have a tattoo of ballet slippers on my right foot..and double pierced ears (pretty crazy, I know ;)

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh? I once had to go to the hospital for stubbing my toe....I was in college and it was bleeding a lot so the RA told me to call the non emergency number in order to get some bandages (apparently Purdue has terrible first aid) and they sent an ambulance, lights flashing and all to my dorm. Everyone in the entry hall was trying to see what was going on...I was mortified.

What's one thing you're proud of? My education, buying a house young with my husband

What's a story of yours that makes people laugh?

When I was a young kid, like first grade, my dad thought it'd be great to tell me that if I left a cool rock that I found in water it would turn to sand---so I did, and he switched the rock with the sand the next night, then when I drained the water to let it dry, the rock came back.

What's one thing you're proud of?

My family. My House. My Job.
