So I had my follow-up u/s today from my original a/s on Dec 24th. The tech didnt say anything, but did leave the room to bring the on-call doctor. My heart stopped as soon as the doctor came in, which is exactly what happened in my previous pregnancy when they told me the baby's heart had stopped beating. Thank God, that wasnt the news she delivered. She told me that it looked like my baby's right foot was not positioned correctly and likely would be born with clubfoot.
I very cautiously visited Dr. Google, but started crying when I saw all the images of babies with clubfeet and the casts they were wearing. Are there any other moms here that have or know they will be dealing with a physical deformity? I know it can be corrected, but the thought of my newborn in a cast for weeks or requiring surgery has me in a pretty bad emotional state. Of course DH wasnt able to go with me and wont be home for a few more hours. If anyone has some insight or similar experiences, I would appreciate hearing them and how you coped.
Re: Babies born with Clubfoot
Thank you for those that have shared their experiences. From what I have read on Dr. Google, it is not painful for the baby. The idea of the brace for a few years sounds very challenging, particularly for a baby and toddler to wear. I am just seeing so many different time frames (based on severity) its hard to try and predict what we will be facing. Does anyone know if the brace is something we would have to pay for?

Hey, your feelings are valid and don't feel like you need to justify or explain them. It's scary to hear that anything is wrong, but try not to blame yourself or perseverate on things you could have done differently. You've done/are doing the best you can. Remember that and take care of yourself.
Sorry you're dealing with this.
Eta: I do not intend to sound unsympathetic when I said "he is perfectly fine now." I totally understand your worry, just trying to be positive and reassuring.

CamrynnsMommy - I would not have taken what you said as unsympathetic. At this point, its very reassuring to hear all the stories and experiences have one major thing in common - that the individual is fully functioning and has no impediments after undergoing treatment.
Thank you ladies for your thoughts & prayers and speaking about your experiences. After a lot of shed tears, I finally called my sister who is a kinesiologist. While my mind was racing over the what-ifs and my heart was breaking over the struggles to come, she put on her professional pants and laid everything out for me. She is going to do some digging and talk to a few specialists in her field to answer a few more questions. I dont know how & when it happened, but my kid sister isnt a kid anymore (proud big sister moment here /grin). I should be prepared and confident enough to speak to my OB next week. While I respect the u/s tech and on-call doctor, I think I am going to request another u/s and further testing (if there is some more they can do).
