Am I the only one who hasn't ordered big ticket nursery gear yet?
Just a thought, I'm only 20 weeks and thought it was too early, but I'm a first timer, so it could just be be, when did everyone start buying big items?

We haven't bought anything yet except for a few outfits the day we found out we were having a boy. I'm not planning on buying anything until after the showers.
Then we'll know what we still need and what we don't.
I ordered the crib and the travel system.. Only because A) I had good coupons and
the items I wanted kept going in and out of stock and I didn't want to miss out..
I'm starting to look around at changing tables but probably wont make any more big purchases until after the shower or much later.
With our first baby, we knew we weren't getting any big ticket items at our showers, so we bought most of them pretty early because we bought them all when we found good deals on them. I am an overplanner, so I was afraid to wait too long, just in case I ended up with a preemie or something.
This time around, we're not buying a whole lot because we'll still be using the changing table, crib and stuff like that when this baby arrives. We'll put the baby in a cradle in our room for awhile and then see if we need a new crib or if we think our son can transition to a toddler bed.
I don't think you're behind schedule. We ordered the crib early, around 17w, because it was on sale at JCP and we got free shipping. It was a gift from my parents. We also bought our stroller around then, with a very generous gift card from my coworkers.
Tonight we bought the dresser that I plan to refinish, but that is the only big purchase we've actually made ourselves. The only other things we've bought is too-adorable-to-pass-up clothing on clearance at BabyGap.
We ordered our furniture at about 16wks, because we had coupons and it was worth it to us.
We haven't bought anything else big, or registered yet. But that is coming soon I'm sure now that we know we're having a boy.

Heck no, you have plenty of time. Some people start shopping right after getting the BFP, some people are last minute and wait until they're 36 weeks (true story - I have a friend who had a shower at 35 weeks, and freaked out b/c she didn't have much furniture-wise for baby - maybe she was expecting big ticket items at the shower, but anyway, she pulled it off in time.)
We haven't bought hardly anything yet. We did buy a crib and changing table, ONLY because I got a fantastic deal on one that was just a couple years old. I want to wait for bedding until I know if we're having a boy or a girl. I'll figure out what travel system, highchair, etc. that I want around 20 weeks also.
The only other items I have purchased, is little stuff like used onesies in unisex colors, etc., from eBay, and a "baby's first Halloween" outfit I got for 80% off.
Me either..way too early..Plus I'll let everyone else buy it for me!!!hehe
Plus my DH will flip..If it was up to him we would do the nursery after the baby was born...
We hadn't bought anything before saturday when we had our big u/s. We wanted to make sure everything was going well, and the there were no problems. We then went to pick out furniture and bedding because we found out we are having a boy.
