We are going to the bahamas in early February and my sister loaned me two maternity suits - a one piece and a tankini. I will be 19-20 weeks when we go and so far haven't really shown since I'm a FTM. Wondering how you ladies feel about pregnant women wearing "regular" bikinis. Is there any concern with getting sun or too much sun on a pregnant belly? I'm thinking of ratating the maternity suits with a few I already have if I feel comfortable in them at the time.

As long as you are comfortable, wear what you want!
I think the sun exposure precautions are the same for pregnant women as they are for the general population. Except, of course, to be mindful of not overheating.
I just went to a waterpark (indoors) with my family the week before Christmas. I brought a pre-pg tankini and a bikini. The first day I wore the tankini and honestly, felt pretty frumpy and matronly. I felt like you couldn't tell if I was pregnant or had a leftover belly from my 2 LOs. The second day I wore a bikini and felt so much better. My belly was small, but round and you could definitely tell I was pregnant. Not only that but my bigger boobs filled out my top quite nicely. I felt cute and confident. I would say wear the bikinis if you are so inclined!

Edit: Just wanted to add the below link. I actually own this in black and mint. It's super cute and I get TONS of compliments on it - I've had it since last summer before I was pregnant. The bust area is a little small, so I would just order a size larger than you normally would. It's ruched and strechy throughout the tummy area, so it'll be perfect for the middle stages of pregnancy. I'm going on a ski trip with my family at the end of the month, and since I won't be able to ski I'm planning to go in the pool at least afterwards with them and this is what I'm planning to bring with me.

You hate the way pregnant bellies look!?! Hate seems like a pretty strong word to use in my opinion. I think your opinion is yours and perhaps you think its valid but its obviously meant to make some of the other moms here feel shame about showing their beautiful pregnant bellies. I agree you have to dress to fit your body but you also have to dress in whatever makes you feel like your beautiful self. If you want to show it then show it, if you want to cover it up then do so. Your hateful opinion makes me feel like this board just jumped back in time 40-50 years, maybe we should all wear mumus to hide ourselves and the life we are creating inside our bodies. Its an amazing and lovely thing that should be celebrated not shamed or hidden away. Your right this is an open forum and thus you should prepare for some backlash when using words like hate and ridiculous etc. when talking about the beauty of life.
I'm not even going to touch your attitude that your "sentiment may mean even more than some".

if your opinion is not hateful then why do you feel the need to use the word hate? over and over again..... pretty tough to misconstrue that. If you "hate" the way a pregnant belly looks in a bikini what is the difference. Sounds like back peddling to me.
@emilyh107 see! up in arms
@FutureMrsW9 is it the actual skin on the bump that you don't like to see? Because it sounds like you don't mind seeing preggo bumps in general. I'm just so curious because I don't see much of a difference between wearing a bikini vs one piece to a beach with a big bump except just seeing the skin itself.

They're absolutely entitled to wear it, but that doesn't mean that it looks good or they should. Modestly ladies. Keep it classy and wear what's flattering. I've never in my life seen a pregnant woman look good in a bikini....never, and I've seen MANY down the shore in the summer.
