(Re)-Intro for 3rd time ((*warning: BFP and loss mentioned))

Hi, Ladies! So, I am returning to TTCAL after a brief stint away. I got a BFP the day after Thanksgiving. 6 blood draws over the next 3 weeks showed rising but not ever close to doubling in 48 hours betas and decreasing progesterone. I was on 200mg progesterone suppositories 2x/day and the last week, was instructed to do HCG injections. I was against the injections, felt we were prolonging the inevitable, but after seeing a (slow) HB at 6 weeks 2 days, and my H being very optimistic, I relented. Didn't do any good-5 days later I started spotting and two days later an u/s showed no HB or growth from the previous week. I stopped progesterone/HCG and MC naturally the next day. "Luckily," H had a back injury so I was able to pop a few pain pills and keep working so no one knows about the pregnancy or loss.

I am currently having betas tracked to 0 (at 21 today), and then will be working with a new RE. I never was quite comfortable with this practice so of course I am kicking myself for wasting the last 5 months. All blood work, SA and the HSG came back ok, aside very low AMH, and no plan was ever made. Most of my issues really were with the answering service and not the RE themselves, but the RE I liked is currently on maternity leave and I not spoken with a single Dr since August. Maybe that is common practice, I don't know, but discussing IM injections over the phone with a NP and never being seen after my loss, I don't know, just not comfortable. I even had to go to my regular o/b for the rogham shot because the RE office didn't have one on hand. But at least I got to speak with my o/b who seems to believe my 3 losses are "bad luck" incidents and that my low AMH really isn't as concerning as I feel since all else was good and I am about to turn 37. She even said the dreaded "well the good news is you did get pregnant!" I pointed out I am 0-3, will be 37 in 3 weeks, so I feel I need to be more pro-active. She gave me recommendations to other REs and I already contacted one for a consult.

Question for ladies who have had EPs and loss of a tube: any of you have pain from that side? I keep getting this sharp pain where I'd guess my ovary could be when I sneeze or cough or pee, just a quick couple seconds and then is gone. The u/s tech didn't see a cyst or anything unusual and I had asked her a couple times about it. I've noticed it since right before getting the BFP, not sure it was there before, and definitely still there now.

All that said, I have been lurking and have missed you ladies. I just wasn't in the right frame of mind to post being in limbo about when/if/how we'd TTC again, but now that I am starting to formulate a new plan of action, I want to come back and participate and offer support to the rest of you. It has really been tough to see how hard the holidays have been for many. I really hope 2014 brings forth happiness and health for all of us. It has been quite a rough year.

Oh, no, Eliz77. I'm so sorry that you've had to return again, but welcome back. I don't have any EP insights to offer. But, switching to a new RE sounds like a really good plan. ((HUGS)), and best wishes for a better 2014.

I am so sorry for your loss. Limbo is hard. I have pains on the side where I lost my tube since my surgery. Doc said it takes a while for things to heal up in there (I had to laps on the same side in less than a year). He also said there could be some adhesion that was causing me pain but no way to really see that unless he operated on me again. I refuse to do that! So I am dealing with it. It's not so bad but can be sharp sometimes. ((Hugs)) sweetie, I am sorry you are dealing with all of this. FX you get a new RE with a good plan moving forward.

I was wondering if it could be adhesions/scar tissue. I'll need to get a copy of my HSG report but I vaguely recall the RE pointing out a strange "squiggly" on the x-ray but since it was my left side and we were rushing through results, I was much more interested in what she found on the right side.

@buggirl Thanks…I knew it was a long shot but guess I'm glad we tried everything and there are no "what ifs" to contemplate. I look forward to the new RE appointment and also to rejoining the AMA check in.

@MrsG80inTN He is a Sheltie, and yes a bi-black! Best dog ever! He has had some serious health issues this last year but doing really well, thankfully. My heart dog.

I'm so very sorry ((huge hugs)). I just wanted to comment on your ovary pain. I've noticed that I tend to get random sharp pains on my right side out of nowhere, sort of ovary-ish in location (I lost my right tube to EP almost a year ago), and sometimes it seems that if I twist funny while getting up or moving in some way I seem to pull something in there and it'll be a sharp pain for a little followed by a dull ache as it sort of settles down. I don't know if it's related, but what you're experiencing does sound familiar.

@MrsG80inTN My aunt has a sheltie with hip dysplasia, apparently it can be common in the breed. Mine tore his plantar ligament and needed tarsal fusion surgery. Then he had strange blood work results that suggested hepatitis or gall bladder attack, so I kept repeating blood work and suddenly his protein levels dropped dangerously low. The 1st day he seemed sick, I took him to a specialist. An u/s and endoscopy revealed lymphangiectasia. he is now on an extremely low fat diet and doing great. 2013 was a rough year all around, but I'm just happy he is doing really well now.

Shelties are fantastic dogs!

@gscoville it does sound similar, I am going to assume related to healing/adhesions. I'll have to ask my new RE about it. I'm sure I am even more hyper-sensitive now, but I don't recall these pains before the recent BFP. Who knows.

Let us know what you find out about them. Now I am overly curious! FX they get better soon tho or at least decrease in intensity.

I am sorry you find yourself back here. I have no experience with EP, but think that finding yourself a new RE is a good idea if you are not comfortable with your current one.
