You ladies are awful Harsh. Jumped in here from 2nd tri group to see what all the fuss was about. Let the girl ask her questions. For us FTM this shiz is scary, new territory. No question is stupid. She obviously did do her homework and googled or searched and came back with conflicting answers. She came her for advice and you all attacked. If you want to joke, remember it's all how you deliver the message. No need to be snarky!!!

I'm a ftm and don't even ask questions as outrageous as this one. In fact, I'm pretty old school and have continued my life ultimately the same as before I got pregnant... except work out because I got really lazy
Some powders do have retinol in them! I was using physicians formula mineral wear up until my 7th week because I didn't think anything of it either until I happened to look at the ingredients after reading about this whole make up thing...

As my doctor told me when I found out I was pregnant:
Your body will do all the work for you
Pregnancy is not rocket science
Your life doesn't have to be completely put on halt
So pretty much the same thing, lol. Keep on trucking.
Though I did as like a few stupid questions at the beginning, until I finally read my book the doctor gave me, which answered every single question I either asked or was thinking.
On a somewhat unrelated topic, "parabens" means "congratulations" in Portuguese. So I always feel a little weird looking at make-up ingredients and seeing a big ol' CONGRATS!!! on the box. That and funny enough, it's "bad" for you.
I use Origins, even before the pregnancy because I just liked it better. Aside from some life changes (like not consuming those tequila body shots all the time and rolling around in a post-sashimi orgasms), pretty much everything you had/did before is ok when you're pregnant. Especially if it's in moderation.
PS- as PPs said, don't eat your makeup. Even after you deliver the baby.
Before being pregnant was even on my radar, I switched to Tarte and Josie Maran. I have sensitive skin and my dermatologist wasn't sure which ingredients were bugging me, so she recommended those two makeup brands as being free of parabens, triclosan, phthalates, petrochemicals, etc. I also really like Borne Cosmetics which is a brand you can find on Etsy.
Re: Safe makeup?
I try to eliminate as many parabens as I can - so I got Aveda makeup, which is just mineral makeup
You can't avoid everything that 'could' cause problems, but if you can minimise your exposure, I figure why not
What was it?
What was it?
A couple paragraphs of the usual white knight crap. "They are so mean. Don't listen to them. Blah blah blah."
LOL. And she bitched out. Wimp. Stand behind your bullshit comments!
