Fb group

I know, I know, there are going to be people who flame this post. But, on another thread when I mentioned the fb group, there were some people who didn't know it existed, and since some of us are in 2nd trim or close, I just want to out it out there that there has been a fb group made for this group. We are a small group (and unfortunately recently got smaller ETA: due to two miscarriages) but active. I like the diversity of the bump and how easy it is to connect to so many people so quickly, but personally fb is just easier for me to start making connections to people, plus it's easier to access than tb for me. Anyone interested in joining the group can pm me. If you aren't interested, just pass this post on by

A little info: the group is secret, which means anyone not in the group can even see it exists, so it's totally private from your friends. What this means, though, is that you cannot search it or get a link to be added. Instead, a current member would have to add you to the group. Anyways, pm me if you are wanting in.

anyways, as I said, I expected some controversy to this post, so I will try not to get defensive when it comes up, but I really am just putting out the info for people who are interested and don't need to know why everyone else isn't interested in the fb group,

Then why did you update your original post if 'us guys' are just overthinking it? Jeeeez, was just letting you know it could be interpreted differently and I thought we did it in a nice way that didn't warrant that comment. And based on how the other FB posts have gone about why people don't want to join, that is where people's minds can have a tendency to go.

@biglewzer not at all. I knew the girl who had a loss personally (from my previous birth board.) Someone on another thread asked me about the group and it made me think it might be a good time to see if people were interested.

@tourqeyes I'm sorry, rereading, I see that came off snarky. It wasn't meant too, I just had little sleep due to a sick toddler and meant exactly what you said. Previous experience or feelings may make people's minds go to places I didn't intend.

I'm sorry I come off as shady. My previous birth month group had a fb group as well, so I didn't know it was SUCH a big deal to people until I saw how people reacted at the last "recruiting" post. I just know the bump moves really fast and there are so many people on it, it's super difficult for me to keep up. Fb is just an easier way. But I still come over here and feel decently involved. I just haven't made any personal connections here as I have a hard time remembering any info with so many people posting.

Exactly, so why would I want you to have my personal information, and just jump blindly into a group that might have people like.. thirtyodd, for example, in it? Crazies are a dime a dozen, which is the beauty of a semi-anonymous forum.

Seeing as how I mostly just lurk, I am more anonymous... but the FB thing just got me - you are right maybe should have been more guarded, its not really my thing but knew other moms (friends) had done FB before with their bump groups. This is my first rodeo, and I have basically no idea what I am doing

who knew pregnancy could be so hard... sometimes I don't remember my own name. Too many decisions for a Monday, back to lurking..

I would be comfortable with a FB group in time but likely not the first one that was started. I know the person who initiated it isn't even an active Bumpie and doesn't care for the Bump. I'd prefer to be in the same group with my fellow Bumpies.

The point is I want to be in a group with fellow active Bumpies. People who I've talked to here. The people who have come to the board before defending the FB group I don't even recognize other than you @sunflower717.

Yeah, that's fine sunflower. In general I get the point that dlsexton is trying to make.

When another group is created down the line, it will be separate from the current one, since no one knows who participates there currently.

Listen. I am not pushing so hard to recruit. I posted one thread and from there have felt the need to defend myself. It's clearly going nowhere. A few people have been added, so I don't regret posting. I don't hate the bump, I just like having both places, each for different reasons. You don't have to like or want a fb group. But I know there are people out there who do, which is why I post this, I have made effort, you can search what I have posted and commented. Or not, it doesn't really matter. I'm sure by posting this, I know have a black mark on my name somewhere. Keep bashing me and the group, it bumps this up to the top and more people request to be added. I, on the other hand, will be bowing out of this conversation because I definitely don't feel like spending my little energy on defending myself.

I am on the FB group, I also post here quite a bit and certainly don't hate it. My last BMB had a FB group and many women joined early, not a big deal! Not sure why everyone here is so gun shy but again, no biggie!

@BPaws - I totally agree with you. My BMB did not form their FB group until after our babies were born, and I much preferred that. This journey on TB has a long way to go before I'd feel comfortable joining something outside of here. I don't think people realize how many UO Thursdays we have before these LOs are born LOL...
