Baby, Its Cold Outside!

Ok, sorry for the corny title! :)

But seriously, with the weather this week, how are you ladies planning on dressing your babies to bring them home from the hospital if you're doing so this week?

Re: Baby, Its Cold Outside!

  • Well we are projected to be at -50 or lower tomorrow. All our schools are already closed for the day...Tuesday may not be much better, whenever we actually have baby and come home (sometime this week) it'll be a cozy sleeper into an already warmed up car. A warm blanket over on the way into the car...which should be a short walk considering hubby will pick us up at the door, and then we'll pull into the garage once we get home. I'm really not worried about it.

  • Everything is closed until Wednesday where I'm at yet we have an appt and NST at 7am tomorrow :( I'm sure my BP is gonna be crazy from the stress of driving in the blizzard in the dark early morning -we are supposed to be well below 0 degrees. I'm sure we will be okay it's just definitely not even remotely ideal!!! It will be a good story one day to tell LO of the blizzards we drove through for him (this will be the second one!)
  • We won't be bringing baby home in the cold tomorrow (still pregnant here) but if we were, I have plenty of warm outfits and blankets for the baby. At our hospital, the nurse carries the baby out to inspect the carseat (I think). DH pulls right up to the door, so it's only a matter of like 5 feet. At home, the walk from the garage to the house is a little longer, but I still plan on bringing blankets to cover over the carseat to get into the house.

  • If we meet our LO this week we'll be packing warm sleepers and using her car seat cover that sweeps over the top to keep her warm.
  • Hoping he comes sooner than later. Tuesday at the latest. I know it will still be cold when we leave. I have a car seat cover, I'll also cover him with a blanket. We will also use auto start to get the van all warmed up!! Forecast is -60 for tomorrow woohoo. (That's sarcastic)

Lo is still cooking so I'm not worried about it. Unfortunately DS has an appt that we have to keep. We will be bundling up for sure.

Still pregnant, due today and I don't care how uncomfortable I get I hope LO stays in until wed. :) I would even hate to drive to the hospital the next 48 hours, ha ha!! Sooo dangerous to be out. -55 with wind chill tonight and tomorrow night here in MN. Plus my and DHs parents are 5 hours away and I wouldn't want them traveling in this.
  • Being induced Thursday, so as long as baby stays put, we'll avoid the winter blast tomorrow and Tuesday. I did get a snowsuit and have a couple of heavier blankets to put over her, just in case.

  • I'm just planning to have DH go grab the car and transport her under a heavy blanket. We will drive straight into the garage. I'm worried about when else get her home though. DS was born in April so we didn't have the AC or heat on. I'm just not sure how to keep her dressed! Hats? Layers? I'm probably way overthinking this.

  • So cold here... But if we did have to bring her home we would warm up the car at the hospital in the garage and we would drive straight into the garage at home so she wouldn't be outside really.

  • Not due for two more weeks but ehh,I live in Az.

  • We're supposed to have our coldest temps today and tomorrow and since I'm not being induced until Friday I'm hoping it warms up at least a little for LO's homecoming.

In any event, I have fuzzy fleece sleepers (with a hood + a hat) for the baby to wear, and a nice thick car seat cover. I can add blankets if I need to as well.

  • I'm not due until the 25 but we are in full blizzard warning (temps down to -30 with windchill and snow up to 3') so I pray it's not tonight or tomorrow! I have 2 warm fleece footsie PJ outfits packed with hats and mittens and a long sleeve baby T to go underneath each. He'll come home with a blanket and carseat cover because WNY winters are rough!

  • If I go into labour this week (FX) we have a knitted owl hat, fleece outfit and a blanket. I keep extra blankets in the van in case we ever get stuck out in a storm.
