Best of 2013?

What were the biggest or best things that you did in 2013? Did anyone keep their resolution last year?

  • I started out as a single mom with a newborn who was unemployed and didn't have a car. So last year started out rough, but I got a job (that I hate, but it's better for me than nothing), bought a Jeep and signed up for classes. I also had a tumor removed, and at the perfect time, because if I waited a few months longer, it would have grown into my brain. Last year was pretty eventful for me, but I'm excited to better my life even more this year!

  • Best things I did for my sanity were start taking anti-depressants & join the Y.  Another big thing was DH graduating with his master's in educational administration.

  • I left a job I had for 6 years for a better opportunity (a toilet factory of all things) and it's been great! I just had to let go of the fear of the unknown and some guilt for leaving my boss short staffed.

  • This year has been HUGE for us! It's so funny to think that Charlotte rolled over for the first time on NYE last year, and this year she is running, jumping, and flipping all over. She's all grown up!

For me, I applied to and started grad school, something I have wanted to do for many years.  I got all A's and found out it isn't nearly as hard as I thought.  I also went from part-time to full-time teaching.  Those were two big changes for me, but a great DH and a great daycare lady make it all possible.
  • That sounds fabulous @babyike

For me, I finally became certified at my job. I've beeb in the field for 10 years and met the requirements a couple years ago but wasn't confident enough I'd pass after ppaying the fees (over $400). A local community college offered a 6 week study course so I decided it was time. The course and application process took 6 months andI finally oapassed in Nov!

  • The best thing about 2013 was watching my once high needs, non stop crying reflux afflicted preemie develop into a very happy, healthy and curious toddler . Seeing her developing all kinda if skills, both big and small, almost makes me forget the awful first few months.

I also got a new job that is much more professionally challenging, has more opportunity for growth and pays a lot better. However, since nothing is perfect there are no IF benefits and we have to pay for IVF out of pocket.

Unfortunately 2013 did not end in a happy note because of the unsuccessful FET in December but looking at 2013 as a whole it was a very good year.
