Jury Duty

I just got summoned to jury duty. I am a SAHM with no back up childcare for my son. I am going to try and see if I can get out, but I am worried I won't be able to. My husband could take a day off work but if I got chosen for a trial I would be screwed. Has this happened to anyone else?

    I got a summons, but in our area if you care for someone full time you don't have to go. Check the brochure they sent you, it should have information about being excused. The last time I had jury duty I was on a trial for 4 weeks!

    Thanks everyone! I didn't get a brochure or a form to fill out. Apparently I have to submit something in writing and hopefully that works.
