Ryan and Reagan are bad bad bad for a girl. Alexandra, nn Alex, I really like! I won't be much help suggesting names though, because I really really hate the boy names on girls trend.
I agree that a girl's name with a masculine NN is a great idea. This gives your DD the best of both worlds.
I knew sisters named Allison and Melanie who's NN were Al and Mel. I love Samantha nn Sam/Sammy. Charlotte/Charlie is good, Robin/Rob, Regina/Reggie is great, Lauren/Larry, there are many possibilities.
I like Ryan on a girl, always have, I guess because I grew up with one.
I like Jordan and Morgan on girls too.
I do love love the idea of feminine names with masculine nicknames though! Johanna or Josephine with the nn Jo, Francesca with the nn Frankie, Alexandra with the nn Alex, Natalie with the nn Nat, Allison or Alessandra with the nn Al, and Samantha with the nn Sam are some of my favorites.
I think Ryan or Reagan on a girl are horrible, sorry. I'm not a fan of the boy names on girls trend in general. PPs made some really nice suggestions, my vote goes to Samantha/Sam.
@MelRC117 - Bryn (n) is very much a very very male name.
I think that it is fine as long as there is a full name that is still a 'girls' name (doesnt have to be girly) What happens if they are the opposite of a tomboy - I like names that give you options

Brynn is feminine variant of Bryn, which yes is a Masculine Welsh name .
@MelRC117. There is no feminine equivalent to Bryn. It simply doesnt exist. People may use it in certain parts of the world as a female name (Going on USA telly here) but you would get laughed at and get very strange looks if you tried to claim it as a Girls name in Britain (let alone Wales)
I prefer the spelling Ryann on a girl, but the sound is decent. Reagan is okay but heavily NMS, and you need to make sure you're okay with people connecting her with the president, especially older people. I have never met a male Reagan; I think people usually assume them to be female. Alex might be better short for Alexis or Alexa--Alexandra might be a bit long and fluffy for your taste.
Francesca with the NN Frankie and Jordan are also favorites of mine, as suggested by PP.
FWIW, as a Samantha, who for the most part has always gone by Sam, I like having a feminine name to fall back on, especially at work. When I work on campaigns for my clients in the EU and Asia, I find it a lot easier to go by Samantha from day one so no one gets thrown off when we meet or have a conference call (you won't believe how some people can get taken back when they think someone who they've been communicating with is one sex and it's early the other). I love my name and it's versatility, so I would definitely suggest it!
I'm not a huge fan of the term tomboy, but here are some strong girl names:
Bernadette= brave as a bear Joan, IHO St. Joan of Arc Maxine Henrietta Hillary, IHO Hillary Rodham Clinton Judith, IHO astronaut Judy Resnick Teresa (Tessa), IMO Mother Teresa Julia, IHO architect Julia Morgan Sandra, IHO Sandra Day O'Connor Madeleine, IHO Madeleine Albright Victoria, IHO the Queen Amelia, IHO Amelia Earhart Esther, IHO Biblical character
I like the suggestions of Brynn, Piper, and Greta. What about something that's not a boy name, but more unisex or just not frilly. Like Avery, Harper, Quinn, Sawyer, Reese, Cameron, Emerson.
I like Reagan. Kyle seems to be gaining popularity as a masculine girl name, too.
In what universe? I mean seriously Kyle?
I actually know a female Kyle in her 60's! I just looked it up...Kyle for a girl was most popular in the year 1951 and it hasn't been ranked in the top 1000 in the past 23 years. So it was much more popular in the 50's than it is now!
I think it's interesting to see how naming trends like "boys names on girls" can seem like such a modern thing, but it's really not.
LOL I totally just did the same thing. I was like this can't be real. I honestly can say I have never heard it on a female. I work with seniors so I am curious in the next few years if I will meet a female Kyle.
I know a female Kyle who is in her mid 30's. I definitely thinks the name suits her!
I like strong names on girls. I am also a Samantha that has always gone by Sam and was a big tomboy growing up. We named our DD Raegan ( nn Rae). I am a big fan of NNs. I also grew up with a girl named Kyle. love Rory, Charlotte (Charlie) and Alexis (Alex), and Harper is on our short list for DD2
Raquelle with the NN "Rocky." I agree that it would be best for her to have options. She will develop her own personality, which may be more girly-girl than tomboy.
I also like the tomboy names! Alot of people disagree on that. But I liked Harley, Reagan, Leigh, Charlie, Dakota, Rory, Levi, Dani, Riley, and Rae. I find the hard part is coming up with the middle names for it.
My bil has a female cousin named Evan. She's in her 30's. Totally fits her and now I think of the name as feminine, but I only know one male with that name (whom I am not close to at all). It could be a cute nn for Evangeline.

I have issues with "strong name" = male name.
That said, my DD's name is technically masculine. But I didn't choose it because I thought she'd be a tomboy (she's very much not right now) or that I thought "ZOMG I'm being so unique and spunky giving her a male name like trendy parents eveywhere"
I chose a name that meant something to me and my family, not because I was trying to impart personality traits on my kid, who is an individual.
I used to love the idea of a boy name on a girl. Until I tried to name a boy and half the names that we love have gone "girly". It sucks.

And I really don't get how masculine names ate strong names but that's just me. This trend really irks me.

Don't get me wrong, I'm not saying all strong names must be masculine. I find names like Jane, Joan, Victoria, and Katherine to strong female names as well. So maybe my use of the word "strong" was a poor choice. I just meant that liked having a masculine nn growing up, and am therefore a fan of names that have a masculine edge (which I consider to have a "stronger" feel than names like Lily or Christine) And I don't have issues with those more traditional, feminine names, they just aren't my personal style.
I like the suggestions of Brynn, Piper, and Greta. What about something that's not a boy name, but more unisex or just not frilly. Like Avery, Harper, Quinn, Sawyer, Reese, Cameron, Emerson.
None of these names are unisex. They're all boy names (and many are still used primarily for boys) that people are naming their girls. That doesn't make it unisex.
My DD is Ryann so I love unisex names. I like them paired with a feminine name. I like Adair, Arden, Kyle, Marlowe, Morgan, Quinn, Shelby, Skylar, Taylor and Whitney.

I have recently been name crushing on Greer. It is solidly a girls name but I think it has a bit of a tomboy edge.
