Red "bumps" - PIP**

Lately I have noticed that LO has small light red bumps (they may not even be raised...) He has a few on his cheek and I found more on his belly. If you weren't looking for it, you wouldn't even notice it. When I had my parents look him over they couldn't even see them. Does anyone know what these could be? He was born at 40 weeks, he's sitting with support, formula fed since 3 months, and he is eating a few solids now. He has had a cold the past few days but nothing too bad.

  • No, it doesn't seem to bother him and he did have baby acne for the first month of his life but that seems to have gone away.

  • He is very fair skinned as well. They are flat and very light colored red. Is that what your LOs look like?
  • Do they go away within hours or stay? Our LO gets bumps like that sometimes, but they go away within a couple hours. I forget exactly what the pediatrician called them, but she said babies get them sometimes when they are a little overheated. If yours are sticking around, though, they are probably something different.
  • I just noticed them today so I'm not sure. He is asleep for a nap now but I will see if I can get a picture when he wakes.
  • You have to look closely but this is the best picture I could get.
  • I spoke with a nurse and she said that babies often get these types of rashes after their fever breaks and it takes 1-2 days for it to go away.
  • LO just had a bottle and then threw up :( He hasn't had a fever or vomitted since Thursday. Any ideas what this could be? I thought he was getting so much better last night. He played in his jumperoo for 30 minutes but then he did have diarrhea.
