DH and I just decided to do Vegas for our last hurrah before the baby. I want to see a cirque du soleil show but I'm not sure which one is best. Has anyone gone to one and loved it? Even better if you've gone to more than one and have a favorite!
We had gone to a show at TI and it was interesting... After the show I did ask DH if I was suppose to be on drugs before hand. We also went to Chris angles mind freak that was pretty cool I even got to be on stage and still had no idea how he did the act. I may not be the cirque du soleil type of person though.
But on a food note if you have the money and like buffets goto the Wynn spendy but so good!
Big fans of cirque du soleil... we went to Vegas in 2008 and saw O and Love... both were great and are a little different from the previously released shows... O because it has the water element and Love because of the music. Both are fantastic. We wanted to see zumanity which is the adults only one but it was sold out. I don't think you could go wrong with any one of them

I've seen a few, but none in Vegas. They are fantastic and nearly over-stimulating. Every show I've seen has been one of the best live performances I've ever seen. I think you would be hard pressed to find a 'bad' one.
I've seen Mystere and O. I loved both, as did Dude. The shows are generally similar (light on plot, heavy on acrobatics) but each has their own different spin on the same idea to make them different. You really can't go wrong with any of them.
But they aren't for everyone. (I was really afraid Dude would hate his first one.) I would recommend going to whichever one you can get the cheapest tix for. That way, if you hate it, you're out less money. And if you love it, you got a great deal and have a better idea of which others shows you might like. (There are discount ticket brokers all over LV. Ask at your hotel too, to see if they have any special deals.)
Unrelated, but I will also highly recommend the Paris buffet (SOOO GOOD) and heading to the Voodoo Lounge at the Rio (before the cover charge kicks in) for the best nighttime view of the strip. It's amazing.
Cirque is amazing!! H isn't a big fan of theater or live performances, but I took a chance and got us tickets for our anniversary a couple years ago. He still talks about it today and how he'd like to see another show
I have been to Vegas 3 times and have done a Cirque du Soleil show each trip! I have seen Zumanity (at New York New York), Mystère at Treasure Island, and KÀ at MGM Grand. I was hopeful to see Zarkana at the Aria hotel on my most recent trip, but they weren't doing shows while we were there.
Zumanity is by far my favorite of the ones I have seen, and I would go see it again in a heartbeat. It's very sensual and sexy! DH was pulled up onstage during their orgy act. It was hilarious to see him get so shy! He came back to his seat with his shirt on backwards and belt buckle undone! It was awesome! He was a great team player!
BTW, I am super jealous that you get to go to Vegas! I love it there!
I've seen Quidam in person and have seen most of the others shown on Bravo or PBS. I agree with above posters. You really can't go wrong. They are so amazing!
Several years ago, Bravo had a reality show about what goes into making a Cirque show. You would not believe the intense training they do.
The only one I've seen in person was La Reve at the Wynn and I loved it. The water aspect of it was amazing andi loved the theater set up. It's 360 with steep Stadium seating so there's not a single bad seat.

YES! I always try to do brunch at Paris, especially Sunday morning (champagne)
Awesome! Thanks for all the suggestions, we'll have a good head start on deciding which one to go to. And we'll definitely be stopping at the Paris casino!
Also, if you aren't picky of which one to see,I recommend waiting to buy tickets when you get there at one of the tix4tonight booths. They sell discounted same day show tickets and usually have cirque shows except O and love as those are the most popular. I think we saved about $30-$40 per ticket on La Reve buying that way.
Mystere was my favorite!!! Ka is really good and le reve was a little different. We want to see O, but they were off last time we were there. The best show we have seen is Vegas, The show. It is the history of Vegas, and the tickets are pretty inexpensive.
