Re: Let's Talk Strollers...

  • This time around I wanted a lightweight stroller. I also wanted to be able to fit my infant seat in it. I also plan on using a carrier at times so she isn't always in the carseat laying down. Sooo I went with the britax b safe seat, and the britax b nimble stroller, which says (in description and reviews) that the seat will click into safely. Reviews said sometimes you get the newer model of the carseat and it won't click in right, and a quick call to britax and they send you the new adapter free pretty quickly. I just need to click mine in by March or so to make sure it's right and i don't need to make the call. But all in all, I'm glad we made that choice so I can keep this as our car stroller. I'll go with a bob or some kind of jogger to keep in the garage for walks and runs.

  • We got an Uppababy Vista second hand and registered for a B-Ready...I have a feeling I'll be using the B-Ready way more after the newborn stage, since the Vista is super heavy. I love how easily the B-ready folds up and it will be great for travelling. We live in a city, so I think the Vista will be good for taking walks and going to visit friends, etc.
  • I said one of each but in reality we haven't registered for the lightweight yet... I'm not sure if I'll just suck it up for the first few months and not use the lightweight and stick to the travel system, then use a basic light weight after. That seems to be the cheaper of the options and honestly I think I can suck it up and deal with the full system for a little while. If I really need a lighter weight option hopefully it's for a quick trip in the market and then I can use a body carrier. Or, so this is how I envision my life working :)
  • I bought a stokke xplory (carry cot is part of promotional deal) and registered for a graco I'm not sure what kinds...
  • For me all I want is a good jogging stroller. I found the one I wanted and searched what If I could get an adapter for the carseat.

In all honesty though, I doubt I will use the carseat adapter, if I'm not running I don't go anywhere to require a stroller. If we do I plan on baby wearing.

I suggest looking into a good quality umbrella stroller as well. That is something I didn't register for, and my aunt bought me one anyway. I was so thankful! Light, easy, and I can keep it on the back if the car just incase I ever needed it.

    Sorry that was so long.

We are getting one of each. I got a cheap double snap and go from craigslist for $40 and spent an hour cleaning it. I figure that's what we'll start with. We are also registered for the contours optimum double stroller. We also *plan* on baby wearing but not all babies like that so we'll see.

  • We used our Safety First travel system exclusively until we got a Combi lightweight when DD was about 1 1/2 yrs old. The lightweight is easy to travel with and nicely fits in the back of the car. This time around, I'm getting a Safety First sit n stand that accommodates our car seat.

I love the look of that stroller! I am considering the Orbit travel system though , which is similar. I love the way it looks (and that the stroller seat rotates) and it has a good safety rating for the car seat. It's pricey, but I've saved in other areas like buying my nursery furniture off Craigslist, so I feel I can justify it. Also the G3 is coming out shortly so I may be able to get the G2 for less.
  • We have a BOB jogger (which I suppose would count as a full size travel system since we have the adapter bar and can strap the infant seat onto it) and a maclaren triumph umbrella stroller. I voted "one of each". I don't think a big stroller and a lightweight stroller is excessive at all, and I'm a minimalist when it comes to unnecessary baby crap.
  • I'm getting an all terrain stroller with a bassinet and toddler seat. They do the whole outdoor nap (after 3months) thing in the stroller in Nordic countries and I've seen how incredibly well it works, so, I want a stroller that will work for that. The wheels have to be all terrain, so, where going with The First Years All terrain Stroller. (Half the price of the Emmaljunga prams that are sooooo popular!)

  • The main stroller I have used for ds has been from the travel system. I love it. We did buy an umbrella stroller for dh's car after ds was a little over a year so we would each have a stroller.

  • Chicco KeyFit30 with KeyFit Caddy (Snap-n-Go type frame)....at least for now.   We'll probably buy some kind of Britax B-Agile or BOB Revolution or CitiMini when baby is 4-6 months old (we'll have moved back to the states by then)...either with a carseat adapter or without based on whether or not he's able to sit up by then.

I love the orbit as well. My cousin raves about it. The funny thing is buybuybaby stop carrying it because there's some recall on it for now. (Don't recall exactly why but i believe it was something about a piece breaking off causing babies to fall out of the seat) I tuned the guy out, my mind was secretly set on the stokke lol. So I believe the G3 will be out soon. For now I'm in love with the stokke and it was a gift, so I'll take it and the one I register for... :\"> they're both great choices. I can't wait to have my lil princess it..
  • We just ordered the be-agile system

  • We have a bob revolution with a child seat adapter and peg perego car seat. We loved it with our first. If we went anywhere we diet want to use a big stroller I wore her in the beco carrier.
  • We registered for a Graco jogger travel system, but plan on wearing her most often
  • I registered for the Chicco Liteway Plus with their Keyfit 30 infant seat. The stroller is light enough for everyday use and is basically an umbrella stroller but you can attach the infant seat while they're young.
  • I would get which one you think you will use for long time and then you can buy a used snap n go. You can get one for $30 and they are super lightweight and easy to use with the car seat. They are universal and should fit all carseats. They only get used for the first 6ish months if you use the carrier and don't take baby out of the car seat. They have a large under basket too.

I have a travel system Chicco and it's so bulky and I only used it a handful of times.

  • I chose a snap n' go and then a few months later began using the Chicco C6 (don't know if that is what it is still called). I plan to do the same this time.

  • We own a Graco travel system, a City Mini, a jogging stroller, a baby bjorn and an ergo from DS. We loved the City Mini the most, and need a double stroller now, so we got the City Select.

  • I went from using a Chico travel system and an umbrella stroller to a city select. So far it's all I need for everyday use.
