Tesskerr - my labour adventure so far.

Hello everyone! Just thought I would start chapter one of my birth story. It is very long so far!
Had a few contractions at 3-5am this morning. Spent the morning bumping a bit, and timing contractions. My waters broke at about 8am. Contractions were about 6mins apart. I was not finding them bad at all.

Went to mcdonalds for brekky, then off to the hospital to meet my midwife for a check up. 2cm at 11:30am. Home by 12:30pm. Contractions about 4 mins apart, still not too bad, but leaking fluid a bit. Painted my toe nails, had a long bath.
By about 4:30pm, contractions were getting worse, about 2 mins apart, and unable to talk through them. Ate dinner standing up, as sitting was too sore. Midwife called and wanted me to go back in for another check up.

Check up at 6:30pm, still only 2cm, which I'm not too surprised about, i just haven't found them as bad as I was expecting. Was given codein and diazepam, and sent home to "rest".

Contractions have been getting worse, but the drugs have helped a bit. I'm watching a DVD and eating some popcorn.

Midwife wants me back in by 4am regardless of progress, might need to kick start labour a bit more. They really avoid pitocin/epis here, just want us to try our best ourselves.

Wish me luck for the next 8 hours, I would love to not need too much intervention!

I will update with my birth story, hopefully tomorrow! If anyone has any questions for me, I feel like after 100+ contractions so far I'm a bit of a pro haha!
