I really like the idea of Paris in Spring/Madeline theme for her birthday. She was named after our Paris honeymoon, that's why I really like that theme.
I found this awesome, beautiful cake on Pinterest that I might end up getting made for it:
Im still undecided but i like the idea that @wasnotwas gave me...
Sesame Street. Party brought to you by the # 1 and the letters of your childs name. Snacks and food can start with those letters.
Since DS's birthday is May 31st and DD's is June 21st, we are going to have a joint party. They are young enough that we can get away with doing one party and they we will be none the wiser.
We will still celebrate their birthday individually, but have one big party where family and friends come. It's perfect that their birthdays are close to Summer, so we can have the party outside.
I was thinking of doing a pixie and pirate party.
I was thinking of doing cupcakes instead of a cake. Half with pirate flags and half with fairies.
I have no freaking clue. It's five months from now. I might not even have a theme, and if I do, it might just be whatever is on sale at the party store. (Or maybe Disney because we are huge Disney fans.)
We're doing a "bright as the sun, our little A is turning one" with everything yellow, white and splash of pink and happy sunshines everywhere. Its different so I like it
@FunkyPhoenix Hungry caterpillar was my baby shower theme. My hostess did such a wonderful job with lots of cute touches!
How cute! If you care to pass along some of your fav ideas, I'd welcome them.
I saw this theme somewhere too! Instead of a cake they did cupcakes that made the caterpillar.
Yep she did this. She also did some hanging paper lanterns in the shape of a caterpillar. She got a thrift store picture frame and painted it and put a pic of a caterpillar inside. And, of course, she gave me the book and the wooden toy. Go to Pinterest and type in hungry caterpillar and there are tons of results!
I have no idea because I haven't thought that far in advance but Ds 1, who's 3rd birthday is next month is having a Mickey themed party. This was ds1's cake from his 1st birthday. It was cat in the hat themed.
I'm one of the crazies that have already thought about this. We are going to do a navy/hot pink nautical themed party since it will be at my parents lake house
We had a shark theme at one of my baby showers since we decorated LO's room with sharks and fish. These were the cupcakes we had made except the fins made out of white and milk chocolate, corresponding to the cupcake flavor. Everyone loved them! We also had bowls of blue gummy sharks and Swedish fish.
I started a secret pin board on Pinterest but haven't pinned anything yet. M's theme was pink lemonade and I did way too many Pinterest-y things and stressed myself out. Keeping it really simple this time! Although I hada thought of transportation, like bicycles, hot air balloons, trains. I don't really know though.

I looove navy and pink together! So cute! If I had a girl her nursery was going to be navy and pink. Love your style gal

I love that idea! We were thinking cupcakes over cake. I'll tell my party planner (aka my mom haha)
@bel194 I did pink lemonade for DD's first birthday! It was so easy to buy plates and cups and stuff bc I just got pink and yellow. However, I got soooo carried away with decorations! Lol I made a mini lemonade stand and painted it pink, too. I need to slowly back away from Pinterest this time around. Haha!
My theme is THE BABIES ARE 6 MONTHS old!!!!!!!!!! Good lord, you kids and your Pinterest.
I've been avoiding this thread for that exact reason. I was thinking my theme is "Here's some cake and balloons. You're 1!" But I'm not terribly creative so...
The decked out Pinterest themes are very cute, but so not my thing. I haven't even thought that far ahead and don't want to. There will be cake and we'll probably grill out with family and swim. I think I'll mess with themes/invites when she's old enough to pick her own.
Most importantly there will be booze & cake involved.
I love ALL of these themes. I have no clue what theme we will do. Maybe Dr. Seuss "oh baby the places you'll go" since that is the book I read to her most in utero. Or Minnie Mouse since DH and I honeymooned in Disney and so it has a special place in my heart. I always try to get her some Minnie themed clothing item for each major holiday.
You ladies are bad influences lol. All the birthday posts had me googling up a storm. I decided sun and lemonade (sorry, I stole that from someone ). My DH is NOT impressed that this is already on my mind and rolled his eyes and said this is going to be expensive.
Re: What theme are you doing for LO's 1st birthday?
We aren't going to have a party (just my parents) but I was thinking about making a dinosaur cake?
I believe it's Betty Crocker.
Edit: found pictures!

DS had a cute Curious George birthday for #3. That's a fun theme.
