My computer is being to slow to figure out who said what and to quote.

I did try and spice up the UO by engaging in GIF war with Blue and 2010bride. It just fizzled out too quickly. But I have called out a couple of people in the last week so I would say that I am hardly boring and not contributing.

Should we have a weather check in thread....?? <-Kidding.

My UO... a day late and a dollar short....

I think GIF wars are played out, very rarely are they entertaining and many times just the same 20 or so GIFS/MEMEs recycled over and over.

But that could be that I spend too much time lurking in TTGP and they are GIF insane over there.

As long as I am sure, it is not going to immediately harm him...I pretty much let LO chew on whatever he wants. His favorite chew toy right now are my iphone earphones.

sorry you are going through this @maymomNY. I don't think there is a win here. I haven't sleep trained yet and at this moment am feeling guilty about not training because I feel like he will never learn to sleep if I keep doing all the soothing and using props. But, if and when we sleep train, I am gonna feel guilty about that too. I am just hoping feeling well rested will make the guilt short-lived.

Here's mine...

I've been on H's case to lower the crib and put up the baby gate, just so that it's done and we don't need to worry about it. She can't sit up or crawl, but I'd rather just have it done because you never know when she will all of a sudden do either of those things since she's getting close.

So this morning I propped her up in her crib and placed her hands on the top rail of her crib, took a pic and sent a text to him saying "omg, look what G can do now...I told you the thing needs to be lowered!"

Probably would have taken less effort to figure out how to do the damn thing myself but whatever

@kateRN08, don't be embarrassed! But seriously girl, we need more specifics. lol

And yes, yesterday's UO on weather was a disappointment. But I don't think anyone was seriously complaining, just trying to be funny. 3 pages looked juicy. And it wasn't. lol

I want another LO but DH doesn't. As LO outgrows things (pack and play etc) we give it to my mom to "donate". Instead she's storing it in the barn for me

If you really want to know I think Walgreens has home DNA tests. You might be opening up a can of worms if you find something out though.

I'm sorry that you're going through this. We went through something similar with MIL. Long story short, dementia was setting in and went wacko on us right after DS was born. DH had to contact the police department and explained what was going on and that he felt that she was a danger to herself, so an ambulance came and picked her up and she was committed to a hospital for a few days. Luckily, as long as she stays on her meds, she is much better now. But she would not have gone to that hospital willingly. (MIL was still driving and appeared to be fine, until nightfall)

Wow I'm so jealous that the ambulance came! My MIL's employer was going to fire her unless she voluntarily went for a health evaluation. She did and they ended up just giving her nutritional supplements. That was like 3 years ago and now she has lost that job and is barely holding down a very low-paying commission-based cold calling job. Her health has declined and her mental stability is like completely gone. Her house isn't sanitary but the police have been out several times and they say there's nothing they can do. It is so frustrating.
I'm glad everything is stable with your MIL - this is what we were hoping for - that my MIL would get a prescription that would keep her stable. But no such luck.

Does she have a diagnosis ? If she's delusional than she can be considered a danger to herself and be hospitialized

I am Canadian but your weather is way too cold for me. Even with windchill it doesn't usually reach temperatures so low where I live. I love snow but not really cold temperatures.

Just got all ready and went to the doc for H's 2nd flu shot.. left work early... get there.. AFTER waiting.. they tell me they are out of them. WTF? I said why didnt you call? they said they got busy. so messed up!

I called animal control on my neighbor.Her dog has been outside in this cold with no shelter for over a week. I tried saying something to her and finally jumped the fence to feed him and give him a box with some blankets. If animal control doesnt show up tomorrow i might call the police department. Hes such a sweetie too

The gift giving reminded me of my BILs gift. They got LO a walker, after I told my SIL not to because we had 5 at home that belonged to DD1( she asked me on my opinion). The part that gets me is that they bought 1 of the 5 of those 2 yrs ago, and were there when we were giving the others. Really how many do I need!

So I'm going to sell the old ones and if they ask about them I'm going to tell them straight up, and DH better support me.

Mine is it drives me nuts when people who have never posted in our group before show up and rant about something and then never show up again until they want to rant. Then when someone asks who they are they get defensive cause they used to be a regular (like a year ago) and I guess that is supposed to count.

I just read an article about parents from Alabama that named their son Krimson Tyde. My FFFC- I don't hate it. However, I think Krimson makes more sense for a girl. Usually, I am super traditional but for some reason, I don't think it is that crazy. Ok maybe the Tyde part is weird.

My cousins 17 year old stepson and his girlfriend named their baby Sapphire Skye. It really isnt my style especially since it is a boy but they like the nn Fire. They have since had a DD they named Jasmine... strange sibset if you ask me, but hey to each their own.

It annoys me when I mention it's cold on Facebook and my family in boston says I have no right to say its cold given the weather they are having.

Sorry - but I've lived in FL for 25 years. 30 degrees is cold for us. I know that negative degrees is effin cold. But back off. It doesn't mean that the rest if the world can't be cold just because your temp is lower.

Btw - I wasn't complaining how cold it was. I posted that Chili and cornbread was a great way to end a cold day. Sometimes I hate Facebook.

If I was your FB friend I would have stuck up for you. I live in Louisiana. 30 is definitely cold! Plus with our (FL and LA) humidity it makes it feel even colder.
