Baby has pneumonia..

Can I get the prize for shittiest day ever? Started out that I went back for my third appointment with the infectious disease doctor. Good news..infection that was on the outside drained and is gone. Bad news...I have multiple pockets of infection inside my abdominal cavity that have formed abcesses. Even better news...being referred to a surgeon to reopen my c-section wound. It has never healed and this is why. Not sure if they are just going to drain and close me back up or have to leave me open to heal from the inside out! Go me!
Then my LO has been sick...cold like symptoms. Snotty nose...last night developed a cough. Started having a fever. Not eating well. Took him to the pedi...thinks maybe RSV. Ok..I can handle that. That came back negative. Went for chest x-ray...well guess what..he has pneumonia. Started on antibiotic but if his fever continues to rise or he gets worse..its a direct admit to childrens. Then after he is better, we begin to try to figure out why his immune system allowed him to get pneumonia.
So now I am just constantly watching him because I am afraid he will be taken away from me like my daughter. Cue the ugly cry into my buritto because it broke in half and I could not take one more thing today. Just needed to vent..thanks for listening! I hope you guys had a better day then me!

I'm so sorry. I hope you and your lo feel better soon. Were you having a lot of abdominal pain? Keep us updated on your surgery and your lo. I wish I could send you 10 burritos to make you feel better.

Thank you... My wound have never closed. It would heal over then open up again in spots like eraser size holes..drain then heal back over. It has been doing this for 12 weeks. It came back positive for MRSA so treated me with antibiotics. Was swabbed and it finally came back negative but the pain has still been there. Never has it subsided..so they did an ultrasound and found the abscesses... So to answer your question yes, but tolerable with motrin/tylenol. They are to call me with the referral, but with LO sick, I figured I have walked around this long with it so that can be put on the back burner.

i was crying so hard about the burrito, I had to start laughing. My family told me I am not allowed to eat buritios again!

Hang in there! That sounds super stressful and scary. I probably would have thrown the burrito at the wall and then broke down. I will keep you and LO in my thoughts and prayers. Belly infections hurt like a bitch.

Poor baby! It's sucks when your baby is sick. It's sucks major ass when you aren't doing well either. I hope they figure out a way to help you once and for all and I hope baby recovers quickly. T&P's!!

So sorry about your crappy day and that you both are sick. Hope you guys get well soon. Take care of yourself, please don't let your infection go without surgical intervention for too long. I know all you want to do is take care of your baby, but you can't help your baby if you are sick yourself. Hang in there mama.

Hope you both heal quickly. LO has cold symptoms and is going to the pediatrician tomorrow. It is such a terrible feeling when our LOs are sick. I would have cried way before my burrito broke. Hang in there. We are sending well wishes your way!

I won't. Infectious disease doc does not believe it to be an urgent surgery. Its called a semi-elective because it needs to be done but is not life threatening at this time. He would like to see it done in the next couple of weeks.
