Baby's bones cracking

Ok so this has happened about 3 times now and idk if I'm crazy or what.

I'll be sitting comfortably on the couch and LO will be going crazy in my belly. He will squirm around and then suddenly do a HUGE jolting kick and I'll hear a "pop". It sounds just like a bone cracking but I know it's not mine bc I'm sitting completely still. Each time after it's happened, he will go calm for a few minutes. Am I crazy? Has this ever happened to any of y'all??

Re: Baby's bones cracking

  • Yes.
Heard it with both of my previous kids.
Nothing like that with this LO so far.

It's creepy. But lots of moms experience it. I wouldn't worry about it.

  • Literally as I was reading this my LO moved and I heard one of her joints pop. I hear it sometimes in the morning, I think she's just like me and stretching after sleeping at night, and her leg or arm joints pop :). It's weird, but it happens!

  • no experience with that...
  • I've had it with all three kids. Not sure what it is exactly but my first two came out fine :)

  • Haven't had this happen.. if it did I would be scared that I broke my baby.

It's really not that weird...it sounds like when you pop your pinky finger. Our joints and ligaments pop all the time, obviously babies do too.

It's not from anything I've done or am doing. Like I said, it's when I'm relaxing and he's having a ball in my tummy. And it's not loud enough to freak me out.

  • I hear it almost everyday with my little one during big movements!
  • My son did that to himself the day he was born he did a big roll hit my hip, I heard a big crack and my water broke. When he was born his elbow was all bruised. It feels weird and sounds crazy when it happens.
