I'd say random shower I spend $30. Someone I am close to, I spend as much as my monthly budget allows that month (it would depend other expenses like birthday gifts, etc) . I guess for twins I would spend more like $50, although I wouldn't feel compelled to buy two gifts unless I were getting clothes.
For me it depends on my relationship with the person. If I am really close I would spend $100+, a friend about $50 and just someone I knew or through work $25. Twins I would probably not spend more.
It depends on how well I know the person. For general friends, I usually spend about $30-40. Close friends maybe $50. I'm sure I'll spend more on family, but so far I'm the only one breeding.
I'd spend a little more for twins, but not like double or anything.
I should have added that it is my SIL. I was thinking of spending around $80 so im glad to hear that seems reasonable. I was thinking maybe I was being cheap but I can't really remember what I got from showers for ds to base it off of.

I think someone asked the twins question not too long ago on here. For twins, I have no clue though, I would think I would spend a little more but not a crazy amount. For a shower for just a friend/acquaintance I would probably budget around $50, depending on what I plan to get (probably closer to 50 if I'm getting just a piece of baby gear, maybe less if I'm doing like, a variety of stuff). For a close friend, eh, it could be much more. It usually ends up being closer to $100 because I'll get my gift, then end up picking up random things here and there because 'they would be perfect!!' lol. But babies are exciting, and it makes me happy when my good friends are having them too
Re: how much money to spend on shower present?
I usually spend about $40 for a baby shower, probably. I would spend more for twins but maybe not double unless it was a close friend of mine.

$80 is definitely reasonable for your sil.
I think it's a "Spend what YOU want to spend" type question...
A lot depends on how close you are to that person along with what your budget will reasonably allow twins or singleton I don't think that changes...
