I've been pretty much MIA over the holidays but my house is now empty once more and I'm back in action.
Hubby and I did the gender reveal for our parents as Christmas gifts as planned. Moms and Dad opened up a box and an "It's a Boy" balloon floated out, and the box was filled with blue knickknacks like a picture frame, a toy, grandparent bibs, etc. I took videos of each "reveal" but have been asked to keep them offline for privacy reasons. Understandable. My parents were SUPER excited. My mom screamed and jumped up and kept squealing and crying; my dad had this big sweet teary grin on his face. So sweet. And my MIL, who already has 5 grandsons and was praying for a second granddaughter, said "AWWW it's another BOYYY" in the funniest disappointed-but-fake-happy voice (she really is happy either way). It made for a good video.
Anyway, since we didn't do the video "announcement" on FB like I planned, we decided to use our chalkboard to announce it.
Hooray, the cat's out of the bag! No more secrets. Way too stressful!!

Hope everyone had a very blessed Christmas and happy new year.

I also have to say that I'm seriously jealous of your chalkboard skills. That's talent. Do you use a marker? It's hard for mine to show up clearly on my chalkboard bc I use chalk. Anyway you look great!
I found chalkboard markers at Hobby Lobby that work really well. They seem kind of pricey, but I use them each week so at least I'm getting my money's worth. And at HL you can get a 40% off coupon on their website, so that makes them about $8 for a pack of 4 colors. I used regular chalk for the first few weeks but all the colors look the same in the pictures. I ordered more marker colors online and thought I was getting a good deal, but most of those don't work as well. The good ones from Hobby Lobby are called "Bistro Chalk Marker" by Marvy Uchida.
