I'm still thinking about what mine will be. Probably to lose the last 10-15 lbs that just won't go away. Ugh. I seriously need to start exercising. .........what will yours be this year? :-)
My yoga instructor was talking about how instead of making resolutions which are easily broken we should focus on a quality and celebrate the small accomplishments within that quality. For 2014 I would like invoke more grace into my life - have patience, positivity and peace!
Mine is to be the wife I was pre-DS, or a close second lol. Being a FTM has changed me in so many positive ways. But it also has forced DH into a backseat role. Further back than I think either of us were prepared to happen. I nag him more, I'm moodier in general due to sleep deprivation and the hectic life that is a working mom's. I take my bad moods out on him, and I know it. So my resolution is to start showing up more for him and our marriage.
@dublinmama I just have to pipe in and say what an amazing woman you are. It takes a lot to look at ourselves and find the gaps and make an effort to make changes in our relationships Sometimes, just seeing into things is all that is needed.
This. I definately have a lot of stuff I need to fix in my life. I need a new job, a new house, I NEED to become better at budgeting, I need to be more patient, and I need to keep my fridge stocked with wine for those "accept the things you cannot change" nights.
So ya, sounds like 2014 is a get my shit straight kind of year:)
My resolution is to lower my expectations of myself to keep a clean and tidy house. Our house is small, and with 3 pets and a baby, things are going to be cluttered and messy sometimes. I just have to get better at accepting it! I'd rather enjoy my family than worry about a messy house that no one except us will see anyway. Easier said than done for me though.
PCOS with long, irregular cycles First round of Clomid in May 2012= BFP #1, DD born January 2013 BFP #2 in January 2014, DS born September 2014
Start going back to the gym at least enough to get a reimbursement through our wellness program at work. I was actually really lucky that I dropped weight really quickly after I had DD (unless you count my annual 5 lbs of holiday weight gain, which I usually lose over the course of January, I'm only 3 lbs above pre-pregnancy weight), but that made me scared to work out because I didn't want my milk supply to suffer. But I always feel better when I work out on a semi-regular basis, and I really miss doing weight training. (This one is subject to change if I find my milk supply drops significantly, though.)
Start meal-planning again. Now that DD is eating more table food, I want to make sure whatever we eat is something she can have too. We normally eat very well, but I feel like lately we've been flying by the seat of our pants and relying on processed crap too much.
Related: Cut down my workday Dunkin Donuts latte-and-egg-&-cheese-croissant habit to two days a week. Lately it's been 4-5. Not good. Time to start making oatmeal to bring to work for breakfast!
Need to lose some weight, seriously. I hate the way I feel in my own skin and creeping up on a year I can no longer blame it on the baby! I am going to enter a big transformation challenge tomorrow to help give me the motivation! $1,000 cash for 1st place!
I haven't decided about my resolution yet. Last year it was to make my bed every day. However, when DD weans I want to do a figure competition. So until then I need to build muscle. Especially my glutes, my ass is NOT what it used to be.
I never make resolutions but I have a deadline to finish the first draft of the book I am working on in August so I'll go with that. Here's to all of our goals being met this year!
Re: New Year's Eve Resolutions.......
Weight...seriously needs to happen
keep my house cleaner on a regular basis so I don't have to spend and entire day cleaning for people to come over
start running again, I miss it
and try to "make a effort" more with DH
