Dec 13' craziness

If any of you are bored the December 13 board has a real gem on their claiming its ok to let her 5 week old CIO at night insted of changing her diaper.

It's the insomnia post that had a lot of posts. I'm on mobile and can't link it.

FTR- I only made it to page 5 and couldn't believe what I was seeing.

I had some time so I read it, it was so long so I skimmed over some. I would like to think no one would really do that.

so I hope I don't get flamed for this...but I don't see what the fuss is.   She said he cried for ten minutes and then slept for four hours.  I wouldn't consider ten minutes of crying to be CIO.  Maybe I missed something, I didn't read the whole thing, but it didn't seem like a huge deal to me.

No, I understand, I definitely get that people have different levels of what is acceptable amount of crying for a newborn.  I read a little bit more and the girl who was really getting flamed said she let her baby cry for three minutes.
My max with LO at seven months is still five to seven minutes but for me even if I wouldn't do it myself I wouldn't come down on someone who chose to because I still haven't gotten the whole sleep thing figured out and apparently for both the ten minute and three minute crier they are already sleeping longer than mine.

I'm not going to flame you, but I will respectfully disagree. 10 minutes is a long time to allow a baby to just lay there and cry. I have been in situations where LO has had to cry for that long...for example, in his carseat when we're going somewhere. But if I was coming up the highway, it wasn't safe for me to pull over and soothe him, so I let him CIO as long as I knew he was fed and dry. However to just sit there on her ass and allow a 5 week old to cry for 10 minutes and she did nothing...that's not acceptable.

I agree. We did Ferber "lite" but that wasn't until he was 4.5-5 months old. At 5 weeks he was still right next to me and I'd maybe let him fuss for a few seconds to see if he would go back to sleep but never let him cry. Babies can't self sooth at that age

if the baby were screaming and not fussy crying than I would judge and also I can't defend the 3 minute crier mom not changing a poo diaper...that is NG.  ..

What a train wreck!!! Apparently she's also weaning her baby's feedings at five weeks. Ds is seven months and still wakes for one feeding about 50percent of the time. Who in their right mind weans a five week old baby.

I just read all 9 pages of that shit show. Who would've thought the lady that lets her 5 week old CIO when his poor little red, raw butt is hurting isn't the worst mother on the board?

And only a teeny flaming for MOTY Jaxx admitting she would've smoked pot during her pregnancy if she'd had a "source?" JFC.

i haven't had a chance to read it yet, but from what you guys are saying, that lady is crazy. We all know how I feel about sleep training, but for a 5 week old?! And a poopy diaper on top of it? She needs a slap...or DCS
