me! I didn't want to be DD for all my stupid ass friends so hubs and I are taking it easy tonight watching some netflix and kicking back mai tais (mine are virgin of course) why's the rum gone!

I should have added that too snmetz7 - the thought of being DD or overly drunk people didn't sound appealing....guess I'm growing up and morphing into Mom mode! I'm drinking shirley temples like crazy!

Me too! DH actually just took a nap, and we are going to grill some homemade jalapeño poppers and steaks on the grill in a little bit.

This will be the first year in many that I've been home to watch the ball drop on TV. There is also a bottle of sparkling cider chilling with my name on it (though I'll probably also have half a small glass of champagne too).

My son and I will be home, prob going to bed early as we are traveling tomorrow. Hubby works tonight. I'm so lame of late, the thought of going out makes me sleepy!

We're staying in tonight. DH is making us a cheese & cracker platter and a veggie platter, and we're going to snuggle and watch movies and probably go to bed right after midnight.

We usually have low key plans, but I'm not even feeling into our very quiet plans. Convinced myself to go to the store to pick up some fixings for our traditional *fancy* dinner (grilled rib eye with sauteed mushrooms and onions, with gorgonzola butter. Plus lemon and garlic green beans and arugua salad), but I'm honestly not in the mood to have a romantic dinner. Didn't even get anything sparkling to drink.

Honestly, I've been hit with a somewhat debilitating bout of anxiety due to the arrival of Braxton Hicks contractions (I know these are normal, but they have me super freaked out, even though there are no accompanying worrying symptoms, and I haven't had more than 2 or 3 an hour). Feel bad for DH, but this will not be our normal romantic kind of new years. Hoping to just make it until 10pm, and then to bed I go. I think sleep will help my mind get calm.

Sorry for the vent - just needed to get that out!

Hope the rest of your ladies have an incredibly wonderful New Years!!

We just got home after 13 hours in the car. It was sad to leave vacation in sunny Florida and end up in 30* weather. We are cooking at home and have a bottle of champagne ready to go. It is the first time I've stayed in for a NYE in ten years, but we are both pooped, so it's fine by me!

@snmetz7 I don't know why I didn't think of that. DD and I could be sharing a strawberry daiquiri, though my favorite is the lava flow ( aka Miami vice). Damn I may take her to store in PJs for that.

DD and I are visiting my parents. So far, I've made a popcorn cake (think popcorn, m&m's and pretzels molded together by melted marshmallow goodness), chicken taquitos, layer dip, beef dip and pizza is ordered. Time to bust open the sparkling cider and board games. I already want to go to bed. Total party animals here!

Staying home. It's my husband's first year he doesn't have to work in Times Square tonight, but he has the mayoral inauguration early tomorrow so we just got home from dinner and will play the who can fall asleep first game. So thrilling!!!

We had plans to go to dinner and then church but the snow ruined it. I had actually curled my hair and shaved down below and everything!! Trying to get my attitude together now. I'm gonna pop open this Fre champagne and open up a cheese and fruit platter and make the most of it!!

That's exciting that he doesn't have to work! My cousin just graduated from the NYPD academy and this is her first real night working ... in Times Square!

Well as it turns out, instead of getting ice cream wasted at home after putting my toddler to bed, and being awakened from the sofa by my husband when he gets home from work after midnight, it looks like I get to put on a bra and schlep a 2 year old over to DH's boss' house, after he's already been put to bed. Which luckily is only about a block or so away, but still...dragging a sleeping child over to someone's house after bedtime. Yippee.

I'm such a party pooper.

I think I have to make it till midnight if I want to eat! We had a late lunch and just finished the jalapeño poppers (they were awesome!), but now DH is just starting on steaks and mashed potatoes. It's 10:15 here now.

Also, I don't feel like I missed out on much not seeing these New Year's specials. Not a fan of Carson Daly or Ryan Seacrest. Which is the lesser of two evils???

I went to my neighbors but volunteered to bring all the kids to my house. So I'm watch a movie with 3 and 4 year olds and rocking a sweet baby girl. I'll admit I kinda love it!

We went down to my in-laws earlier and cooked hot dogs on the fire. We were home by 10pm, started clearing out DH's "man room" (we are moving DS into this weekend and then DD will take DS's old room) and now we are just lounging around. I am honestly surprised I am still away right now. It is way past my bed time!

Grading papers on the couch in my Pjs. So happy that I am not standing outside freezing with a bunch of drunk people until 2 am this year! Told the hubby to go out and have fun, ill pick him up when he's ready.

. We've decided that that's close enough - bedtime!

It ended up being a lovely evening, though. Good dinner, made it through half a movie, and some nice quiet time together.
