Is anyone here from the UK or Ireland?

Hi I clicked on the local link on here but it just gives American cities and there's no UK board, so that's got me thinking if anyone on here is from the UK or Ireland? I know there are UK forums online but I'm just curious that's all.

Re: Is anyone here from the UK or Ireland?

  • Hi Hun I'm in the Uk. I'm due on 12 July this is my third baby. I was wondering the same thing x
  • Loading the player...
  • Cool this is our second and last baby I'm Irish but currently living in Cambridgeshire, due 22nd of July. We could be pen pals or something :-) I don't have any real friends here in England but we get by :-) moving to Birmingham soon can't wait for that :-)
  • Hi Hun I'm pregnant with my third child which will be my last. I have a son Jordan who is 12 and a daughter called Mya who is nearly 9. Would love to be pen pals. I've not long moved to where I'm living now and my son has ADHD and aspergers so don't really get to mingle!! Pen pals would be ideal x
  • Hi I live in wales I was thinking the same thing I am due 11th July with my first baby :) scan is on Tuesday. Have you noticed how early the mums in America get scans I'm completely jealous. This will be our first glimpse to whether there is anything in my rounding belly so we are a little scared an excited at the same time have you had your scans ?
  • Hi Hun I had booking in app (where they go through family history) at 6 weeks. Had my scan at 10 weeks 6 days but won't have my first ante natal app till I'm 16 weeks! Which seems so long to wait. I'm 12 and 1 day today I've not heard the heartbeat or anything :( the uk is way behind compared to America!! Lol xx
  • I live in London, England. 4th baby. Due July 12th :)
  • Hi duejuly yeah but early scans you can't see much so I think the 12 week scans are better.

Carly I think it depends on where you are from and what family history or personal medical history you might have, for my first pregnancy I was consultant lead and I remember having to go to the midwife every two weeks which was a lot I thought. I can't remember exactly when they listened to the heartbeat but I'm sure it was after 16 weeks.

They've decided not to have me consultant lead this time as DD was born with no issues and I'm happy with that, it means less appointments :-)
  • To be honest I think American hospitals are way too medical about giving birth, like a lot of them have doctors deliver the baby instead of a midwife and I just watch the American shows and think why?
  • I wasn't consultant led the last two times but will be this time due to spinal surgery and a serious blood condition but I've also had two c sections so that complicates this more!! I'm seeing my consultant this Tuesday so I'm hoping they will do the baby's heartbeat. I'm gonna ask if I can take a video as my app is really early (gotta get the 7am bus)! And my partner goes back to work in a few weeks so he won't be here on my 16th week app.
    Congratulations on your pregnancies xx
  • there is an international board :) I used to live in the UK, now in Australia
  • It doesn't give me a link for an international board?

Carly I sent you a PM yesterday I hate Pms on here though it doesn't alert me if someone has sent me one so I guess it's the same for you.
  • Hi Hun sorry I didn't know you pm me I'm new to this site so I will have a look for it lol hope your all keeping well xx
  • Thirty odd, my hubby's mum's family is originally from Ireland. However, we live in Texas. We just visited last year & we both fell in love. Although we were sick half the trip we absolutely loved it. Went all over & the people were just lovely!... I'm sure you miss it... I do & I'm not even from there! Lol

Immature, I thought all the bitching had ceased but I'm obviously wrong. Thanks for taking it into another thread though and for the record I don't like your kind either so the feeling is mutual and that wasn't a joke by the way.

You should try babycenter- it's filled with like minded humorless bitches :) I think they even have a UK arm for humorless bitches with bad teeth.

  • Just a little update, I sent a few complaints to the actual company that runs this forum and they seem to agree that the attitudes displayed (especially by the moderator LoisLayn23 in the Push Presents thread) violates their own terms of use. They have outlined their plans to completely change the flagging system all across the boards and to make users AND MODERATORS more aware of the rules and this will include bullying behaviour.

I am fully aware that I played my part in the argument for a while but I've re-read the entire thread again along with this one and a few others and I still don't believe that I deserved the treatment that I got over it. Well it seems that The Bump is currently trying to eradicate a lot of problems similar to this all across the boards and they tell me it's going to take some time because of the sheer size of the site and the number of regular users.

So now that the Bitchyness should have stopped or be in the process of being stopped we can get back to the original intention of this thread.

I have a question for all the UK people what are your hospitals like for providing birthing pools? My current hospital does not have a pool for every woman but we are moving soon and I'm hoping my next hospital will. There was no pool available for me last time and I think I'd really like to try a pool.
  • Or you are making that all up. But whatever makes you feel better.

I saw you GBCB in another thread, did you change your mind? (Serious question)

Guys, I'm mobile. Help a girl out and post a face palm or shake my head GIF.

  • Post whatever you like the whole thing has been reported to the board owners who have decided to take it seriously as I've had three replies from them so far. I admitted in my post above I did play my part in the whole thing but tourqeyes if you want to see the messages The Bump have sent me you are free to PM me your email and I will happily forward you their responses to me.

I see that your friend LoisLayn23 has been rather quiet about the whole episode since yesterday, coincidence? No I don't think so.
  • Oh and another thing, you want someone else to come along and post for you? You can't do your own dirty work?
  • Huh?

Because I can't gif from mobile. What part of what I posted did you not understand? ...............

  • No Aliletz the board owners have been more than cooperative over the whole incident, like I said Tourqeyes is free to see these emails if she wishes to see them. Ive no intentions of putting these on the board, why are you wanting to know if you were mentioned?

You make it seem like you want to move forward and then you make posts that are sarcastic, which is supposed to be what you are trying to stop. Which is it? I'm serious. You can't continue to play both sides of the fence.

  • Yes I want to move forward and I thought we had moved forward, I posted an update on the progress made on the issue in question. You then decided to get the sarcasm going and then asked for one of your back up to come on the thread and do your dirty work, me I was not being sarcastic I was stating a few facts and asked you if you would like to see the replies I received from the company. Then Aliletz decided I was making the whole lot up. I can assure you I haven't made anything up.
I still have not received your answer, do you want the emails or not?
  • I don't have to explain myself any further, Aliletz you obviously want to keep the whole thing going probably because you have nothing better to do. They are keeping an eye on certain threads and this is one of them so keep going if you want to I really don't care.
  • You're correct, I have nothing better to do. I'm in bed recovering from a pukey migraine watching Juno and laughing at you. Thanks for the warning, I'll be sure to be on my bestest behavior :-@

  • Thanks everyone that's more for them to see.
Tourqeyes whether you can gif from a mobile or not you are still asking someone to do your dirty work for you.

So you still aren't interested in seeing these emails as you still have not pm'd your email address

Again, I'm mobile. So I can't (read: too lazy right now) PM you. You are welcome to send them to me via PM on thebump until I am able to send you a message tomorrow but based on our interaction thus far I don't feel comfortable sending you my personal email address as you suggested in a pervious post. Don't freak out at that, I have learned a lot on this website over the past few years and my personal information I take very seriously.

Also FYI - your "update" didn't come off like that. I don't think you understand your tone to others is not as neutral as you think it is and that is where the trouble lies. Your "update" and recent posts continue to sound condescending and like you are trying to rat everyone out to our parents. To try and scare us that we have big brother watching us when TBH anything said to you was in jest or within the TOS we have been provided -- and no one can do any better than that. The bump gods are welcome to update that at their convenience and ban gifs if they see them as being on the 'verge of bullying' as you previously stated.
