What's everyone up to for NYE? Am I the only one freaking out at the thought of staying awake past midnight? And watching people get drunk? Friends keep asking what we're doing and the whole thing makes me want a nap right now.
We are having our close friends over for a pre-party, then I will be DD to a house party of their choice. I will be in bed by 12:30 one way or another.
We may go eat with my mom and the kids. The kids are already there since they are on break and want to stay tom night also... if they do (we live 40 miles away) we may just pick up dinner and be lazy with a movie. Most likely attempt to stay up until midnight and then crash either way!

Casual dinner with DH and then coming home. I hate the pressure of doing something fab on NYE. Maybe I'll have a little champagne in my pjs if I am still awake!
I'm staying in NYE, but attending two events on New Year's Day to make it up to friends. A brunch and a potluck are so much more my speed right now. I am bummed to miss a sequin wearing opportunity, but I've also been known to wear them on a random Tuesday, so....
I think I'm going to make a few appetizers for my SO & I to munch on, watch a movie on Netflix & fight to stay awake until midnight. Or maybe just accept my lameness and go to bed once the apps are gone.
A bunch of us are renting a loft space downtown to throw a big party. I try to never miss the opportunity to wear way too many sequins Of course, we're planning on leaving at 12:01!
NO clue! Probably will be home on the couch and asleep by 10. Our friends are all going out to a local bar which of course does not sound like a good/fun idea to me.
I'll be napping all evening after work until we head to my old house for a big, drunk, sparkly party that I got roped into cohosting. I used to be a really big party girl, so a lot of my more casual friends will be seeing me sober and pregnant for the first time and think it's HILARIOUS!
I, on the other hand, am not amused. But hey, it's an opportunity to get out and let DH have some fun. Plus my old roomie is letting me park in the backyard vs street parking (which would be at least a 3/4 mile walk on NYE), so I can't refuse.
You can bet your ass we'll only be staying until 12:30 though. That's kind of my "thing" every NYE with my hubby... Ever since we first started dating I left immediately after midnight to partake in banging in the New Year. This year it will likely be to come home and snuggle with my Snoogle while he eats McD's drunkenly, but my friends can think I'm still a little wild if they want to
We are keeping it really low key this year. Usually we go to our friend's New Year's party but this year we opted to spend the night in pj's snuggling under a warm blanket watching movies on the couch. If we make it to midnight great, if not that's cool too.
Going to our friends house who will be smoking a turkey. I will enjoy all the food and probably be in bed in their spare room by 12:30. DH can party it up as late as he wants as long as I get to sleep. Then I will happily drive his drunk butt home once he is ready ;-)
He has been so good as to not expect me to go out to the bar or stay late at parties or gatherings... so I figured the least I could do on New Years is to let him party it up!
I'm with ya! We have a wedding to go to tomorrow night at 6pm and it's safe to assume that with this group there will be some pre-partying earlier in the day. My DH has a bunch of friends flying in for it and most of his friends are single which means a drunken mess by 8pm. He said he's not interested in that this year and we'll go home when I'm ready - which is amazing except for all the crap I'll get from his friends for "making" him go home early. Ugh, it gets so old!
I'm in the same boat times 2 because it's also my Birthday tomorrow, so while everyone wants to party including hubby I'm like what about me!!he wants to go out & have drinks & everything, & I just want to enjoy the fact that it's suppose to be my day, the last of me...me before baby.
My husband is working night shift on NYE, so I'll be spending the night with my 2 pups. I have no intention of even pretending that I'll be staying awake to ring in the New Year!!
I haven't been out to a proper "party" for NYE since college - it's not really my thing. DH and I will be having apps and movie night on the couch. I'll have a small glass of champagne at midnight and probably be asleep by 12:05 haha.
Just put the pulled pork in the oven. We'll eat a lot, then watch the Queen's address, which I won't understand, then some stuff on TV that is tradition here, and DH will drink and we'll fire off fireworks. We got a ton, we'll probably do it in shifts. We might also take a walk over to his cousin's house to see what they are up to. Small town Danish NYE!
I hate NYE a lot and always have. Our friends are hosting a party that starts right before DD's bedtime. I could bring her and put her to bed there, but I'd rather use it as an excuse not to go. DH can still go and spend the night if he wants.

We haven't gone out for nye in 8 years, after we both fell asleep on the couch at our friend's annual party we decided that it's over for us. We will have a huge dinner with my family then go home, cuddle up on the couch, watch a movie, fall asleep, and laugh at our lameness. It's one of my favorite holiday traditions!
Low key NYE here too. DH and I are planning on grilling some nice steaks (and awesome homemade jalapeño poppers) at home, and I can make it to midnight if I get comfy on the couch.
In the past, I have always dragged DH out, so I think he's happy for a NYE at home too.
What's everyone up to for NYE? Am I the only one freaking out at the thought of staying awake past midnight? And watching people get drunk? Friends keep asking what we're doing and the whole thing makes me want a nap right now.
We'll be doing the same as the last 11 years. Not a damn thing. I have never been a big NYE person, and am always in bed long before midnight.
I've only ever gone out drinking for NYE one time. It was a blast, but I'm just not much of a party-er (pregnancy brain is preventing me from spelling that word, I cannot figure it out. I'm sure you know what I mean!)
Last year, DH and I tried to go out for dinner but he got paged for work before our drinks even came. By the time we got home, the issue had resolved itself, hah. So we just watched TV and fell asleep by 9.
This year I plan on making us some appetizers and snacks that we can eat while watching TV...and will probably go to bed at 9 again. We're lame.

We have a wedding to attend. It should be good but it just goes so late and of course I can't drink and then have to drive home around 1am. The end of the night will be tough to get though. If it wasn't NYE we'd probably leave early but we definitely have to wait til the ball drops at least!
I just invited my sister and her fiancé over for dinner. My DH is trying to extend the invite to our neighbors and other friends but I told him I just want to keep it small and simple. I am still unwinding from the holiday party we hosted a couple of weeks ago, not to mention having both of our families over for a massive Christmas dinner just last week. I just don't have it in me to throw a New Year's Eve bash. Guess I am a party pooper and I am fine with that.
DS was born on NYE in 2003 so I haven't gone out for a decade! And it is wonderful! There is no pressure to do anything extra exciting, and I like being safe at home with my family when I know there are more drunk drivers out on the roads.
DH has to work til close to midnight and we have no plans to obtain a sitter, so I'll be spending NYE alone with a sleeping toddler, getting ice cream wasted, and will likely have to be woken up off of the couch once DH gets home to get a kiss and a glass of sparkling cider...and if I'm feeling up to it, DH just might get laid.
I have no intention of staying up until midnight this year. If by chance I do, it'll be curled up on the couch with DH under a fuzzy blanket and into bed at 12:01.
For the first year ever were doing absolutely nothing and I'm super excited. We just got back from driving 5 hrs yesterday and I really didn't want to turn around and drive an hour and a half to our friends party so ordering take out and watching movies it is! Can't wait
