Spotting and scared *update*

Well I just got home from vacation tonight and my mom and I went out to grab some food and I went to use the restroom and noticed pink spotting and very very slight cramping.  So this obviously immediately scared me and has me worried.  Well I went and took a hpt just to see since I had noticed the spotting and my test has gotten significantly lighter.  I know I know I shouldn't POAS but I had one left and just had to.  I am feeling pretty sure this is over...I know there are possibilities it could be a fluke or normal but I just don't think it is.  I don't even know what to do right now...

*update* well needless to say I was completely shocked at my appt. Not only was our bean in there and measuring perfectly...we got to hear his/her beautiful hb going at 146bpm. Dh and I started crying and just couldnt believe it. I will NEVER be using a hpt again to see how pg I am. Here is our u/s from today! Thank you so much for the support ladies!

Re: Spotting and scared *update*

  • The test could be lighter depending on the time of day you took it, water intake, or time lapse since last time you urinated. Hugs spotting is scary to see. I hope its nothing. Call your dr to let them know and they will either get you an u/s or bloodwork. Hang in there.

  • The spotting and cramping could be nothing, and I wouldn't put too much stock in the HPT just yet. I have had quite a bit of spotting and cramping with this pregnancy, but all is well. I was also convinced at one point that an u/s would show no HB, but I was happily surprised. FX for you, and I hope your appt goes well.

  • I woke up with more than spotting, but not horrible bleeding yesterday and was convinced it was over.  I already had a u/s scheduled for that morning.  My RE was NOT phased at all when I blurted out that I was scared because I was bleeding.  He literally said "I'm not worried...we see this a lot in early pregnancy."  I hope you get great news at your u/s.

This seemed to be my REs response too. Feeling relieved for now!

  • So glad that everything is ok!  There is nothing better than seeing/hearing a heartbeat to know that everything's ok!!  Spotting can be pretty normal, even after the 1st tri.  I'm 14wk5d, and I've been to see my OB for emergency u/s twice in the past 3 weeks for spotting.  The first time it was just an irritated cervix, which is pretty common.  The spotting last week was a bit heavier, and it turns out it came from the womb - apparently I have a mile placenta previa that the OB is hoping will resolve itself in the next few months as my uterus grows (Baby A's placenta is partially covering my cervix, so bleeding will likely continue to happen...).  There is definitely nothing scarier than waking up in a puddle of blood!  Just remember to call your OB every time you see spotting/blood - it could continue to be nothing, but could be a sign of something else.
