How many milligrams of caffein do you consume in a day. I know the allowance is 200. I have been consuming anywhere from 35-100 milligrams on most days in the form of decaf coffee, diet colas, regular coffee or tea. I know these are not the healthiest choices but do you think I should try to stop completely? I get so board with water.... With my first pregnancy all I drank was herbal tea and stevia or Splenda sweetened beverages. No caffeine or aspartame at all. I can't find that willpower again

I doubt I ever go over 200, and I thought the same about the danger being mostly in first tri - so I don't pay much attention to it anymore.

My family is a Foreign Service family. Families like mine are posted in every corner of the globe. We live our lives away from family, friends and the conviences and comforts of home. We often live and work in dangerous places among those that misunderstand our intentions and purposes. Sometimes members of our ranks sacrifice our lives to further diplomacy. Please remember that we serve too. And I'm always open to questions.

All Alers Welcome!
My doctor told me to scale back, though she sees no issue w 2 (8oz) cups per day. I see it as a treat now - not a necessity. I reeeeally look forward to my coffee
There's no "limit" per se. A lot of doctors use the 200mg number as a standard, I believe it comes from a study regarding caffiene and early miscarriage. I just limit my intake to one or two caffeinated drinks a day. As long as I don't get shaky or have a lot on an empty stomach I'm not too worried about it.
Edited: Horrific spelling

Lately I've been having a big decaf coffee and chai tea. Maybe both in the same day, maybe not. Sometimes I have iced tea. Basically just staying away from all forms of soda (not due to caffeine, just unhealthiness), and regular coffee and espresso.
Before pregnancy I was a huge caffeine drinker, unlimited amounts of coffee all day.
