Twins!!

Hi everyone! I was holding back on posting anything on here and have been admiring everyone's stories for the past month until I can get in for my first ultrasound. I'm 9 weeks 4 days today.....and just found out we're having twins!! We're scared but excited and up for the challenge!

We've been trying for a baby for over a year and had to go in clomid. We decided third round would be our last.....and that's the one that worked! You can imagine our shock when the Dr told my husband "you may want to sit down".

We haven't even told any family yet....but we will this weekend since the Dr felt it was safe at this point. I'm so over the moon and excited...and I wanted to share. Everyone's stories, fears and post has made these weeks go by...and I look forward to reading as we all grow along!!

Any other twin mommies on here???

    Thanks everyone!! I'm still shocked and over the moon. I kept asking the Dr "are you sure". I got really nervous when she said very calmly "let's check for more" lol.

    @katekat, yes!!! With clomid I gained about 10 pounds within those three months. The mood swings were so bad as well as the painful periods!! That's why we decided that if the third round didn't work, we would take a break. Thank god it did!

    I found out I was having twins at my first sono two weeks ago. :) I can certainly relate to the shock you're feeling! I go in this morning for my first "official" appointment and doctor visit today. I had an early sono due to a low progesterone reading, otherwise I'd be getting the shock today! Congrats to you on the pregnancy!

    congrats! another twin mama here :) we did ivf :)

    dx: hypothalamic ammenorhea & MFI. TTC #1 since 7/09.12/09: DH had varicocele surgery. 5/10-8/10: IUI + Clomid #1-4 BFN, 9/10: IUI #5 + Clomid: BFP!!! Tyler Liam 6/3/11 7 lbs. 2 oz. 20 in. :) TTC #2 since 11/12. IUI + Clomid #1-2 Clomid: BFN, new RE: IUI + injectibles: BFN. Onto IVF#1 Antagonist: July '13: Estrogen, Provera, Menopur/Gonal/Cetrotide; ER 8/6: 8 eggs, 6 mature, 5 fert. with ICSI; 5D SET 8/11: BFN :( FET 2 embryos scheduled 9/13: BFP!!! 10/13: 2 heartbeats!     Congrats! I'm just having one baby this time, but I had twin girls in 2011. They will be 2 in two weeks. It's so much fun!

    Congrats! I am 9 weeks 5 days with twins as well. It was our third try with injectables and IUI, we had pretty much prepared ourselves for two because of the meds but it was still quite shocking when we saw it on the screen. The nurse told us "well you bought one and got one free" haha

    Thank you ladies!!! All day I've been in shock and find myself so thankful for not only one but two babies!! I've prayed for even just one baby, and have been blessed with two. I'm totally up for the challenge!!!!!

    You ladies are all so loving and sweet and I'm so happy to have this forum to just read and share stories with! Congrats to all you mamas out there too!!

    Now....to get the random questions to stop stressing me out such as....can twins sleep together? How am I going to fit me and two car seats in our car?!? Lol.

    Twins can sleep together! Obviously once they get bigger and mobile it proves an issue, but I've read a few times that twins that sleep together sleep better and gain weight faster. After all, they've been snuggling together for 10 months! Congrats!!
    I was researching this today and found the same findings!! That's great news. I figure there's a sense of comfort being next to each other.

    I wonder how you're suppose to place the car seats. One in the middle and by the window so there's room for me to sit in?!? One on each side?!? I'd figure it'd be easier for me to be back there for when they cry or whatnot. I'm imaging us in the backseat like sardines inside my prius! Lol
