c section pouch

I've been using belly bandit bamboo. It's done a really good job of flattening my belly but it doesn't seem to reach or work right above my incision. (Belly bandit rides up) I have like this hump/curve. I'm 3 wks post surgery. And maybe I just need to be patient. Is there any compression undies or other things you are using to help. Thanks ladies

Re: c section pouch

  • I have the kangaroo pouch for sure!!!! I was using a binder the hospital gave me but it rode up a lot and it wasn't super helpful. Ill be watching this thread to see what everyone else says

  • Yeah I figured I just need to be patient. But didn't know if there was some products that help the process.
  • My pouch from my first c-section never went away and that was 8 years ago :/

I have a pouch too. I'm only a week out, and I have a binder from the hospital, but my skin is so dry and the steri strips are annoying under it so I don't wear it much. Maybe once the strips fall off I'll start using it again.

Does anyone know how long until they come off?

I started off using the hospital one. When I bought the belly bandit it was much more comfortable. And really did a great job with flattening most of my belly except that freaken lower area. That has that hump. I've been trying to pull the belly bandit down bit it doesn't seem to do anything to trigger that area. I was told that tape would fall off but it got removed on my first app. With my gyno

  • My pouch never fully went away from last time 2.5 years ago. I like my nursing tanks though because they smooth everything out. I'm almost 4 weeks pp and my steri strips are slowly coming off, with help from me. I didn't fuss with them much before my first appointment but now I'm picking at them and they are almost halfway gone. I don't want to tear them off so after showers if they are pealing I peal them more.

@airsica I pulled my strips off after 2 weeks. I did it while in the bath so it would be easier and that really helped.

  • I also had a pouch, i saw the doctor and she said I needed to have it drained, in my case it was something called ceroma. I will still need to have it drained again.
I am also wearing a binder and doing hot compress 3 times a day.
I wasn't expecting for my tummy to be flat, but I am glad I had my doctor see it. I am now 5 weeks pp

@ashleynh5 do you still have the mesh undies from the hospital? I pulled those up over my incision and put the band over the undies. The band didn't rub that way

Did she your doc say what was the cause of seroma? How did they drain it. Sounds painful
  • I've got the pouch. I feel like there's nothing besides some nipping and tucking that will make this thing go away. Then again I'm not concerned with it at the moment.

It was a regular check up and she drained it at her office, she did put local anesthesia and since the incision was still numb I didn't feel anything. I have to go again next week, hope it still doesn't hurt.
  • I've got the pouch too and still look 5 to 6 months preg. I've lost 30 lbs in a week which i think was water weight but have around 25 more to go.
