Altitude and fetal movement

I live in Colorado at 6,800ft and have been visiting DC for the past week for the holidays. I have an anterior placenta and normally feel the baby move a couple of times a day in CO. This past week while in DC I am feeling her all day long! I am wondering if the increased oxygen in the air is contributing to her movement or is it just a coincidence. Anybody have thoughts or experience?

    No thoughts or experiences but I'm 20 minutes from DC. Hope you're having fun and stayed dry today :)

    Northern VA is my home :) I grew up here and my family still lives here. DH and I lived in Arlington before we moved to Colorado for the military.

    I live near Baltimore, so I hope your having fun in DC. I think the increase in oxygen could be a factor in you feeling her move more, but who knows. I'm no doctor lol :) I am almost 25 weeks as well and have been feeling baby move much more the past few days. It's very reassuring. Sorry I don't have a better answer for you.

    We live at very near sea level. SNP/Kings is an hour from our house. When I was pregnant with DD we went up a couple weeks before my due date (I wanted her born on earth day, silly I know). We didn't do any super strenuous hiking, but we were at 7,700 feet on the General Sherman trail. I didn't notice any change in movement, but I was a term so that might make a difference. Did joke with DH that I'd blow up like a bag of chips at altitude.

    Not sure!  I am from CA, sea level, and when I visited my sister in CO, near Denver, I didn't feel them as much as I usually do.  I just assumed it was because I was so busy and moving around a lot with my niece.  

    They also have a tendency when we are around family or other people talking (besides DH & I) they kind of settle in and listen to their voices.  It is hard because everyone wants to feel them move but they won't when people are talking, so that could have been the reason for their calmness as well.

    Interesting. I also live in CO and have an anterior placenta. I haven't noticed a change in movement when we travel to lower altitude.
