1st Trimester

I'm a terrible co-worker! Forgot about christmas gifts!

I work really closely with two ladies in my office.  I have been fighting exhaustion and worrying so much about being pregnant, I totally forgot to get them gifts!  They brought me in things today and I feel TERRIBLE.  I am going to run out real quick on my lunch break but it won't be as personal as I feel they deserve.  My question is, even if something happened I feel like I would need their support... should I tell them why I am off?  I am almost 6 weeks.  I of course will consult the hubby first as well.

  • I wish all companies had policies against gift giving. It's just added stress and expense.

  • I would rather not get a gift at all than some "oh noes!" last minute obligation gift. I'm so glad my office doesn't bother with that sort of thing, although we have been known to buy something from the patisserie next door for someone on their birthday.

As for your actual question, I have no idea what it is or what it has to do with last minute gifts.

  • Give them a New Years gift. It gives you a few weeks further in the first tri if you feel like reeling them and more time for you to shop. I know this is probably too late but just a thought.
  • I ended up getting them gift cards and wrote a nice note. I explained at my last job we did not do Christmas gifts, so I will do better next year. I kept our secret, which was super tough! We have our first ultrasound on Jan 6th so hopefully after that, maybe we can start spreading the word! I hate keeping this a secret when we are so excited, but also don't want to jump the gun until we know all is okay!
