Recommend your toy box

We always just kept LO's toys in a bin in the living room because he probably only had 10-15 of them before Christmas. Now he has closer to 25-30, and they will no longer all fit in the bin. I long for a hand-painted wooden toy box, but they are so expensive. Plus, as my husband pointed out, LO might very well beat the thing to hell over the years and chip the paint all up. What do you ladies have for toy boxes? I am hoping to find something in the $100 or less range, though if it were really nice I might go slightly above that. I don't really like those ones that are bright primary colors. LO may like it, but I think they look kind of tacky. Bonus points if you include a link to or a picture of your toy box.

Add: I know they look/work nicely because my 1yr old nephew has the same exact but the two bins.

That's cute. Do fabric drawers fit in them, or do you just put the toys directly in them?

We haven't bought one yet but we decided for the living room to buy a small ottoman. The cushion type where the lid comes off and can flip over to make a tray for extra table space for entertaining.

I really like organizers like the Cubeicals above. We have several of the IKEA Expedits and find they organize toys much better than a toy box. I found a toy box useful until my DS started getting into toys with smaller parts. Then it just became a black hole.

I love the one that @EmAzeem mentioned. And for now I can keep the not age appropriate thing on the top bins.

Due to overwhelming amount of toys he received for Christmas, we decided on this IKEA Expedit shelving
We will use 3 sprouts bins in them and keep some cubbies open

I was checking out ikea and saw that the bins to go in the Expedit are on sale cheap on Monday only. I know where I'm heading on Monday.

I just used my hope chest. I stained it and might put some letters on it later. I also went and bought a cheap toy box from toys us. It's collapsible and was only $20

@CL8badB that's what we used too! I was surprised at how nice it looks for the price. I put that one in the bottom of one of his closets. In the living room we got a cabinet from target that looks more like furniture. I am clinging to having my house look somewhat "decorated" and not completely taken over by my sweet boy and his toys.

Ladies, embrace a toybox. I, too, thought those shelves with the cubbies would be great. Then the boy child got bigger and his toys got bigger and multiplied like Mogwais sprayed with a garden hose and that cubby system mocked me. It stood in the corner and laughed at me as I tried in vain to shove shit into it that just would.not.fit. The bigger and less compartmentalized, the better.
