I can totally see how people would not like them. They are bulky, crazy heavily advertised, the charms are sometimes overpriced, etc.
I have one and I love it. All of my charms are from a life event, so my bracelet isn't very "pretty", but I love it because it tells the story of the last 8 or so years of my life.
My Pandora bracelet is my guilty pleasure.
I am able to accept them because of the sentiment involved. Maybe I'm just jealous because I don't have one.
To spin off of the homeless topic, I don't think it's funny or cute to have kids/babies dressed up as a homeless person. (Most) parents wouldn't dress their child as a drug addict or prostitute, why is the homeless thing seen as humorous?
I side eye anyone that wouldn't dress their baby up as a prostitute.

I'm totally confused. Is this a real trend? Do people do this?
"If you're still my small babe or you're all the way grown, my promise to you is you're never alone. You are my angel, my darling, my star...and my love will find you, wherever you are."
This might be like seven degrees of UO.. But.. Maybe @youtubebeauties ' Secret Santa gift got lost in the mail? Maybe that's just me hoping that everyone is inherently good...
There's my UO ... I always think the best of ppl.. Even when all signs point to bad.. It has gotten me in trouble many times.
@youtubebeauties is no fun because she'll post the initial stupid post, and then she disappears until her next stupid post.
Wow.
This is shocking? Really? You posted a snobby comment last week and then never followed up, and did it again this week...

Let me preface this by saying I would never in a million years actually do this, but I do think about it every once in a while.
Sometimes I wish it was safe to leave LO in the car when I have to run in somewhere and know I'm only going to be in there for a very quick minute. Sometimes it takes longer to get her out of the car than it does for me to do whatever I'm going to do. Again, I would never actually do it because I'm a responsible parent (and I've watched too many episodes of Criminal Minds and side eye everyone I see in public), but the thought does run through my head. Did anyone else's parent used to leave them in the car back in the day? My mom did. But, that was also back when carseats didn't exist and it was acceptable to let kids ride in the back of trucks. How are kids born before the mid 80s not all dead?

We have a PO Box and it literally kills me to pull him out every time even though I can see him from the window, but then I think what if I get tied up and have to go to the counter. I'm with you though. I think about it occasionally, but would never do it. That and I don't know about you but that car seat is getting heavier and heavier. I guess it's good exercise

The dang carseat is why I think about it. It's getting SO heavy! Plus I have the dumbest car in the world when it comes to getting the carseat out of the car. It's so much work I just end up staying home most of the time.
My UO: you should not give transients money when they beg. If you want to help people go volunteer your time or donate your money to an actual organization.
Unless you've been a transient, I wouldn't comment on this. My husband was homeless for almost 5 years. He has a right to have an opinion.
Ok I have an actual uo this time.
I work with the homeless population on a daily basis. In my city, we have a large amount of resources and constantly try to get people help. Not saying all refuse the help but a large portion refuse the help. This includes housing, mental health help, and help with addictions.
I feel giving people money is just allowing them to not seek help, if that makes sense. The majority of our homeless population have addiction problems in addition to mental health problems. So most take the easy way, which is panhandling. Now, if the did not get any money panhandling and had no other choice they would hopefully seek actual help and get out of their situation. Which is why I think donating to an organization is better.

This is you telling people how to live. It's not up to you. There are organizations that offer help, and I volunteer at a big one. There are also people on the street looking for a fix. Whether or not I give them money isn't going to sway them. I don't give money expecting anything. I do it because I understand.
@roostermemphis totally true people can do what they want. I have no say in what they do with their money, obviously. If I saw someone giving money to a panhandler I wouldn't say anything but I wouldn't do the same.

Its a choice for sure and I don't judge you. I completely understand why you wouldn't. But we may have seen different things and have been through different things in our lives to make the choices we make. All good.
I hate when women say they only have male friends because they can't hang out with other women - because it is too much drama, or they are more like men. I call bullshit. You don't have any female friends because you are the problem, not an entire gender.

I might have read it last week and it triggered something. My cousin was spewing it in Christmas Eve also. I just hear it so often.
I fully believe people should have the option of help if they want it and if you have the ability to help someone in need you should. Though where I am from it is very difficult to tell if your giving money to a panhandler or a con artist. We had a panhandler on our way home when I was younger, and my dad would give him money when he could until one day we say him pull out in a car nicer than ours that was hidden behind some bushes... makes me hesitant to help outside of an organization
Christmas would be better without presents. That's why Thanksgiving is the best holiday: you spend time with friends and family, eat and be merry. No pretenses. No anxiety about buying gifts, whose gift is better/more expensive, etc.

Yes.
Huh. That's weird. I have never seen anything like that. In person or on the interwebz.
We give gifts to all of our family members (4 parents, 1 step-parent, 6 siblings, 2 in-laws, 3 nieces, 1 nephew, 1 god child) plus each other (me, h, 3 kids), and secret Santa with the extended family (so 5 more gifts). There is also an exchange at work, u give my bff's 2 kids something, and we give out cards to everyone else (like 60 cards).
