I got my iphone fixed for 29.00!!!!!!!!! None of the moisture sensors were tripped. When the phone dropped, the connection for the screen backlighting popped off its connection on the inside.
D has done AMAZING on this trip. Almost a week on the go and he has adjusted wonderfully. Engaging, happy, you name it. He even was totally in his element at a gathering today with 40 people there that he didn't know. Smiles, let others hold him besides me, explored (he's 2). Easter at the same place was a nightmare, so I was prepared for the same today. Yay D!
Now if he would just eat instead of pick at stuff and nap better. Pretty sure it's all the excitement getting to him with those.
DD did well at her birthday party this past weekend. There were no melt downs, and she was happy to blow her candles out, also no one noticed that she dislikes opening gifts since her younger cousin kept stepping in and doing it for her. It was by our definition- a success and now my big girl is 3!
The kids got a ton of play sets for Christmas yesterday and naturally most of them got disassembled in play yesterday. Dd wanted to play with one so she brings me the box and says "mommy, help. That, that." And points to the particular pictures of the items that need reassembling and the little characters she couldn't find. I go out and put it together for her and find the missing pieces and she gave me a hug and kiss. Sweetest (and most resourceful!) kiddo ever.
I've been so proud of DS this season. I don't remember what I've posted so sorry if this is a repeat.
At a huge Christmas party he did so well. He played well with his cousins. This is the first year where we really didn't have to worry about him at all. We both got to have adult conversations. It was. Wonderful. During the big gift exchange (all the adults bring one gift, the opening order is random and they can be stolen. It was chaos. DS sat in the middle of the group with his cousins. When it got to be to much he went and got his new coloring book. He returned to the group with it and concentrated on coloring. I was so proud. He wanted to be part of the group and found a way to cope all on his own!!!
On Christmas Eve we pulled up Norad's Santa Tracker and he immediately put himself to bed LOL. He's been so excited. It's been awesome.
Though I know now that DD will never be a Santa kid - cannot stand the man himself in any way shape or form, can't handle the "disarray" read - anything turned 15+degrees let alone oats left by the reindeer (particularly a huge huge issue Christmas morning); the DIY Lego table is quite a hit - which is saying something being an actual "toy" thing. She also figured out on her own to move her hands or an object across the top while sitting and watching a show for sensory input!!!
Sitting at a table..not even eating...for more than 3 minutes - I may actually get something done!!! Oh yeah and got the high functioning nod again from the SLP (with seemingly more "our style" ASD kids than our OT) which always makes my heart happy.
