I've actually wondered about what they do about the fluid in a Section but oh holy hell... I didn't need to know or now worry about poo in the intestines. Awesome.

DD came into the world pooping, but fortunately only on the nurses. DH just gagged when I mentioned it could have gotten into/on my incision.

I was induced for having very low fluid. When they "broke my water" I was expecting at least a trickle, but nothing happened. It was realllly dry up in there.

LOL! My H is also a hunter and he told me if he field dressed me the way he does a deer I'd die on the table.

However! I just got back from my OB and asked him. He said they tape a bag on my skin so that when the water breaks, the water goes into the channel created by that bag, and is then suctioned out.

I am pretty sure the meconium would do no harm because babies first poo is sterile since they have yet to eat anything.
