Am I the only mommy who is having issues with their mother in law? I got along with her great until I got pregnant.
She made lots of little comments that bothered me when I was pregnant, but I just chalked it up to hormones. Now that the baby is here, it's even worse. When my mom makes comments or gives me unsolicited advice, I just tell her I don't want it. But I can't say that to my MIL. She has talked to people about my inability to produce extra breast milk, gets upset when the baby cries when she holds her, because 'grandma can't lose her touch,' thinks everything she did when she was raising my husband (42 yrs ago) are the things we should do now, etc.
Please tell me there are others out there irritated with their MILs also. I normally tell my husband when his mom says something stupid and he agrees with me, but I can't tell him how much she really bothers me.
Re: MIL vent
I don't see why your MIL should be any different than your mom. Tell her thanks but no thanks.

During discussions we've had recently he advanced the following opinions: it's okay not to use a seatbelt, the baby should be given water, all our neighbors are heathens because no one has a nativity scene, he should call the cops on his neighbors because they don't park in their driveway at night, and God placed dinosaur bones here to confuse mankind.
Those are all from the last handful of days. Biggest idiot I've ever met. I've seriously wondered if DH wasn't adopted.
