Boobs :)

Ok, so I knew that they would get bigger, just not this fast and this much! Pre-pregnancy I was a petite 34A...I can't fit any of my bras, so I went to buy pregnancy/nursing bras, and got sized. I'm a 36 C! WTF boobies?! The saleswoman advised me to try Ds too, because they're only going to get bigger. Is this normal, or am I super lucky/freakish to gain all my early pregnancy weight in my boobs?

  • I'm quite looking forward to this "side effect" but mine hasn't kicked in yet.

  • I just found out Friday that I'm KU and my boobs already don't fit in a couple of my bras. I'm curious to see how much bigger they are gonna get.

Most of my early weight gain so far has been bloat.

  • Get ready for the ride. They should get a size or 2 bigger still. My bra lady said that they have 3 growth spurts... big boobs are not all they're cracked up to be. When I was nursing DD, I looked ridiculous, because in order to get clothes that were big enough up there, they were huge through the waist.
  • I would recommend waiting to buynursing bras until a few weeks after you deliver. Juwt buy regular cheap bras for now. Your breasts will change a lot between now and once your supply is established, so it isn't practical to spend a lot of money on nursing bras now.

  • Same thing happened to me. My normally 34B chest has morphed into a C cup. That came along with bloat everywhere.

  • Lurker chiming in. With my first pregnancy, I was a 34B and am a petite gal. By the time DS was born and nursing, I was wearing 38E (sized at 34/36, but felt uncomfortable). After nursing, went to 34D. I'm 8 weeks pregnant and my bras are getting uncomfortable. Sigh. Yes, it is normal. GL!

  • If you're looking for larger (cup) nursing bras or heck regular bras too and live in the Chicago area, I highly recommend Tina's Closet in Lisle. I was a 36I with my daughter and they had all sorts of options for me including an adorable floral pattern. If you're not in the area, find a good friend to measure you before you go out to the store. Some will tell you any size just to make a sale! If you're ordering online, the brands I had were Anita and Goddess. Pricey but they had the size I needed and fit and felt great.

I have this problem regularly. If my boobs get much bigger I'm going to look like a cartoon character until the belly shows up.

  • Mine are just starting to get a little bigger. I'm a d/dd normally, so I'm not really looking forward to it. I already have a hard time finding shirts that fit. They also hurt all the time, I'm going to hand to start sleeping in a sports bra.
I'd also recommend going the cheap route, you never know if they'll get bigger or shrink back down or what's going to happen!

  • I had small, hypoplastic breasts and I felt absolutely no changes to them until postpartum with DS.  This pregnancy however, they already feel fuller and achy.  Maybe I "woke up" some milk glands after BFing DS? Who knows!

  • I'm def in a similar boat sister! My mother is well endowed and she had to loan me a couple the past week. I'm usually a B cup and wearing Ds now. I'm 11 weeks. I'm also a little scared how much bigger they are going to get.

  • Well, I started out with an F... my nursing bras were I. Painful. I ended up with Anita and Goddess nursing bras. Very comfortable and supportive. The Goddess especially!
  • I started off pre-pregnancy with a nice 36 C.  What I wouldn't give to have those back...  I went up to a 36 I when nursing, down to about a G when not nursing.   So yeah, my girls grew out of control.  And on top of it, this is my 3rd pregnancy, and with all 3 I have taken a really long time to show (to anyone who doesn't know).  We're talking 25+ weeks.  So I just get huge boobs.  It's awesome. They have gone down between each pregnancy, but like I said - not much. Maybe they even went down to a FF, I'd have to check my bras.  Can't wear those right now anyhow...

  • I have a question... Did all you ladies have sore boobs? I'm 6 wks pregnant and mine feel like paper weights, sore to the touch and feel much fuller all of a sudden? I find it weird . This is my second pregnancy, first one ended up in a MC at 6 weeks ... I'm always feeling them to make sure they still hurt so I know that it's a good sign that I'm still pregnant ... Hopefully!
  • Mine feel fuller @5 weeks 6 days but I don't see much growth! However they have gotten awfully veiny! I have really big blue ones on each boob!
  • I'm 5 weeks and no boobies yet. I've been waiting all my life for boobies. I was part of the itty bitty titty committee so a little more boobie won't hurt.
  • Another question... Do your books hurt all through pregnancy.. Does it come and go, better one day worse another ...
  • My boob pain has subsided since the beginning. They're still sore, but not nearly as bad as they were at weeks 5 and 6.

  • Lucky! I am a 36A and struggle to fill that.  My first pregnancy I didn't get any buffer either. Going this pregnancy I get my C breasts!

When did yours start "coming in"?
  • Mine have gotten a lot less sore now they're only really painful when I'm trying to sleep, especially when I turn over or move to get comfortable.

I started out as a 36D, and my bigger bras and sports bras don't even really fit anymore. Going shopping probably at the beginning of next week because I kept putting it off.

  • i went from a 34 b to a 36 dd by week 20. i am now 11 weeks post partum and still 34 dd. i am not upset about it. lol.

and mine stopped being sore towards the end of the first trimester. but the soreness is back with a vengeance. engorgement sucks! you think you're sore now...
    Baby Birthday Ticker Ticker>

  • Mine have gotten big already! I love it! Although they are always soooo sore, ugh!
  • I am shocked at their extreme growth, too. I was 34d to start and now, at only 6 weeks I'm spilling over the top. It seems like they get bigger each day! My DH is super excited and says he can't wait to see how big they get but I'm a little freaked out! On top of that, they are super sore :( I find wearing a sports bra helps, I'm afraid people will notice the change long before we're ready to announce officially (I'd wanted to wait until I can't hide a bump anymore) and I don't want them to totally shrivel up after baby!

  • I started out at a 32 D. I'm on my way into my 5th week and my bras are already getting too tight.
  • I am only 5 weeks and I have noticed they are swelling and very tender.  I have been sleeping with a bra on because they hurt so bad.  Right now I am a 38D, but I have a feeling that isn't going to last much longer.

  • I joked with my sister at Christmas that my boobs feel like Mike Tyson used them as punching bags.  I was a 38DD before, and holy bejeezus, are they big and sore now!  Since I am already really boob heavy its gonna be pretty obvious if they keep expanding.  I'm gonna look like a chubby Jessica Rabbit (proportion wise anyway)...  My best friend knew the moment she saw me this weekend because she noticed my increased cup size!  Sheesh!

And I noticed in my face this morning the bloat. I am already DD I worry I am not going to be able to breastfeed very easily due to becoming too large!
  • I'm a 36 C/D and I can feel them swelling daily, yikes it is painful!  I've been surviving by basically living in these (comfortable and supportive without the painful underwires): https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B003NSBVP4/ref=oh_details_o00_s00_i00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
