Painful Gas question (TMI)

So last night I went to dinner and the movies with friends. On the way home I started feeling really gassy and like I was getting "the fevers" (aka diarrhea). I had hubs speed home so that I could run to the bathroom and then NOTHING happened. After about 5 min of trying to go, I finally got up and walked around the house a minute before deciding to go to bed (my belly just hurt too much). As soon as I laid down in bed I had these HORRIBLE gas pains! I felt like my intestines were about to explode! I ran to our bathroom and was wimpering because it hurt so freaking bad. Finally, on the third time getting out of bed I was able to go (and it was horrendous, like a horror movie lol). My question, what can I take for future pain like that. I heard Pepto is a no-no, but what about Tums or Maalox? I've never had too many belly issues throughout my life, but since getting pregnant I've learned what real constipation is, and now I've learned what real gas pain is. Thanks!

  • Chug water!
  • Gas-x. I've never heard of "the fevers" for diarrhea before. Learn something new every day!

lol, it's the term my sisters and I call it. You know, beads of sweat on the upper lip, across the brow, and hot flashes. Not a pretty sight but sums it up without saying "I was going to shit my pants" lmao!

  • I had this in the middle of the night two days ago. I swear to you, that is exactly what contractions feel like. It reiterated why I will not be having a med-free birth. I'll have to try some of the above suggestions!
  • This has to be a bug! I literally had this Thursday night. The exact same as you! It made for a very tiring (I was up all night going) Friday aka last day of school before break. I looked hung over my DH said! Then our travel plans were last night so the flight continued to 'knock things loose'! All I've done is drink lots of water. I finally feel a little hydrated again. Feel better girl.
  • I've literally been going through this exact chain of events for the last 3 hours or so. (Tmi, sorry!)
@lilnunz1 - that's what contractions feel like? Yikes.
