  @RoosterMemphis, All you have to do is go to one good gun show. Just about everything you need for the zombie Apocalypse will be available there.  H and I have already decided that if/when it happens, we're heading to my dad's. He lives in the country, on a hill, with great 360 degree visual, a creek runs through the property, oh and he has an arsenal and several tractor trailers on the property. Don't ask me why he has several tractor trailers. I have absolutely no idea except that he's weird. However we have decided it will be a great place to either hide or store things/bodies.  I have a small .380, that I figure S will be able to handle by the time she is 4 or 5. If she has my sharp shooting skills, a higher caliber won't even be necessary. Double tap, right between the eyes baby!

We can watch them broadcast someone shooting up heroin on "intervention" but they fire Phil Robertson for his opinions in an interview that was off camera and had nothing to do with the network?? He was asked those questions, it's not like he has anti-gay bumper stickers all over his truck.   My parents asked me to set up an Amazon wish list for Christmas gift ideas for us/the boys this year. I have totally hit the "spoil the surprise" button more than once to see what all we are getting. Im a dirty dirty surprise spoiler.

  @amadarins The interview definitely had something to do with the network. He was doing the interview to promote the show for A&E. Essentially, he was representing their network.

  In regards to the crackheads, well they aren't lighting up and saying Jesus only loves crackheads and we should all do crack. It certainly wasn't glamorized. And, intervention was cancelled. 

  
  

  Additionally, saying he is old and Southern and that's why he is a bigoted, homophobic racist is offensive to all the elderly southern people who are not bigoted, homophobic racists.

  The article I read didn't mention anything about racism. I only heard about the gay comments. I don't agree with his opinion, but it doesn't supeise me.   @RoosterMemphis - In the event of a zombie invasion - Head to my facility. Plenty of gasless transportation to use and trade with survivors, immediate river access, animals to eat, land, a generator, forage, etc. I really feel like it is the best option. And with all that said... maybe we ought to make a plan to go out again even sooner. LOL!

  @amandarins @madelinegrace He basically said in the interview that black southerners were happier living under Jim Crow laws. He said he worked with them in the fields and he never heard them complain. Yeah, buddy because black people totally felt safe complaining to  white men in the Jim Crow Era south. 

  
  

  Essentially, he thought black people had it better before segregation ended and they had the right to vote. 

  
  

  Various people are hypothesizing that the racist comments aren't getting as much coverage because he can't defend those by using his faith. It's being swept under the rug. It's illogical, but people will still think it's ok that he thinks gays are evil, because he's Christian. He can't claim he doesn't think blacks are equal because of Christianity, so it's going under the radar. 

  
  

  ETA: Also, A&E can edit the reality show. They probably have a ton of footage of him saying similar things that they choose not to air.   I discovered a Mexican restaurant down the street from me on Monday. It has a drive through. I've been there three times since Monday and I plan to go back today. I can't stop eating tacos.

  We cling to the 1st amendment any time anyone faces repercussions for saying something inflammatory, the 1st amendment just guarantees he won't be imprisoned or punished by the government - he wasn't. He isn't facing legal actions; He is suffering financial ones. If his words don't fit the image A&E is going for, they have every right to boot his ass.

  I go back to work one month from today. I have officially decided that I don't give a damn about housework or even cooking meals anymore. I am going to get in as many snuggles and cuddles as I possibly can even if it means living in a messy house and ordering take-out several times a week.

  @madelinegrace I saw that this morning too. I don't watch Duck Dynasty, but I love celeb/ entertainment gossip and one of my favorite blogs has been covering the story extensively.

  I just read that A&E is doing a duck dynasty marathon starting 12/22. If they were smart, they'd cancel that shit.

  Also, @BelhurstBride, I'm right there with you on the nap thing. DS never wants to nap anymore, and fighting him on it is just so.much.drama. Instead, I give him the ipad, set a timer for 1-hour, and tell him he can come out when it goes off. Then I go in the living room, watch TV, and eat things that he's not allowed to. :-)

  I hate to even keep talking about it because It's everywhere but with the whole duck dynasty mess, I agree he said terrible things, he should know not to voice those opinions since he is in the public eye but it was an interview that was done to make money, the media spins shit all of the time. We only know what was said that gq released, there could have been much more said, he was asked those questions to get that kind of response
