Today was Anatomy Scan day! I knew going in I'd be lucky enough for the dildo cam, because that is the best way to check the cervix and the status of my complete previa. The tech started with the abdominal however. Baby was in a strange position and was all
So I'm like, dude, chill. She wasn't able to get a bunch of measurements so we have to go back in a few weeks. However, she did say that my placenta was strangely high for a previa, especially one that had been complete. She said it looked way more anterior than previa, but would have to transvag to check. It is quick for it to have moved that much, but nonetheless, I was all
We wrap up the abdominal portion. Transvag shows only a partial previa! Turns out I have a crazy serpentine cervix and a tilted ute. If I were "normal" the placenta would not be blocking the front door, know what I mean? I'm about 60% now, and tech and midwife are certain it will totally move. That's great progress for only a few weeks, so I'm still all (see below) even though I'm still on pelvic rest and basically not allowed to be a normal human.

And DH promptly asked when he was getting fixed. Which started the two vs three debate.
At first I was worried that I'd be sad about a boy, but as soon as she told us I couldn't stop smiling. I get to have a son, too! So psyched. He looks healthy, from what the tech could see today, so I'm a happy camper! I made the mistake of telling Norah that "new baby" is a boy and now she keeps saying "Boy! New baby!" I'm afraid she'll spill the beans before we reveal to our parents on Christmas. Oops! I then asked her what she thought we should name him, and her choices include Ducky, Moose, Cesar (WTF?), and Teeth.
