FFFC

I have a feeling these will be good today. Prove me right! I have nothing cool to say and I want some entertainment.

  • The wine UO from yesterday reminded me... I didn't have my first shot til I was 25. I love wine and it's pretty much all I drink. Btw, rumchata tastes like puke to me. But I love kamikaze shots.

I'm considering leaving with the baby to avoid infection, because I don't want us to get it too. But if we do get it at least its a reason to skip Christmas with my inlaws.

I put her in pjs sometimes when it's cold and we will be out just for a little bit. She's covered in a blanket so no one sees her anyways.

I think it depends on the situation. A is almost aleays dressed properly when we go out. If we go to the doctor for her shots or because she is sick I will dress her in a sleeper. (In the summer she would wear a romper) I think it's more comfortable for her after her needle and when she's sick. As she gets older that will change.

I think it also depends on the age of the baby. I think there is a difference with a 2 week old in a pair of sleepers and an 11 month old in sleepers.

I send her to DC dressed, but her spare clothes are sleepers because I don't want to her to be a mismatched mess if she needs a new shirt or pants. 3 out of 5 days she comes home in a sleeper and I have no idea how long she was in it.

I never realized people had an issue with this until I joined the bump.  I find the obsession with how babies are dressed to be kind of weird.   They are babies.  I don't think they have to dress like adults.  And I think it makes more sense to emphasize function over form at this age for the sake of your baby's comfort.  Sorry but to me judging how babies are dressed is superficial.

I'm with you. I have never brought M to daycare in pajamas, but you better believe that when I had to take her to the doctor twice in the past week for being sick, she was in pajamas. We've been home from work/daycare all week and I haven't put clothes on her. I have changed her sleeper, though.

  • When I look at my friends baby I always compare her to mine in my head and tell myself how much more awesome mine is. I do the same thing with her husband. But hers is such a tool so I don't feel bad about it.

I have actually contemplated doing this myself. I sent matching sets of backup clothes and whenever he needs to wear them he is allllways mismatched. It makes me cringe but it's not the end of the world. The other day he somehow got his socks dirty so they pulled out new socks - but they weren't a matching set! I don't really care but I was confused - how did they end up with one of each when I specifically folded the matches together? Odd. I think sleepers would solve this but it makes me uncomfortable to have him in sleepers in the middle of the day. I don't.know.why.

Yea. It doesn't bother me. When we're home she stays in sleepers. If I spend the day in pjs she should too and DC is the same to me as being at home. The more comfortable she is, the happier she'll be and easier it is to play. If we go out to an event or someone's house she is always dressed.

I know it's strange and dumb that it bothers me. DH tells me all the time that it shouldn't. When I am out for the day and he's at home with E they have PJ day together. When I am with E he is always dressed. But at least I buy him comfortable clothes - we save the jeans and those kinds of things for going out, but he wears onesies and cotton pants most of the time.
I'm so glad I'm not the only one who finds it weird. There's a baby at LO's daycare that's always in a sleeper... he used to be sleeping every morning when I got there, so I thought maybe they just didnt want to wake him up to get him dressed and take him in. But... no. We were there early the other day, and he was wide awake when he was dropped off.  I know he's a baby, and really it doesn't matter, but it just seems weird to me. I'm not dressing LO to the nines by any means, and I put comfy play clothes on him... but he just seems too old to be wearing pj's all day.

  • I haven't bought a special Christmas outfit for LO. My mom bought him a "My First Christmas" onesie, and that's probably what he'll wear, with some pants he already has. We're just staying home (and my parents are flying in) so it feel silly to get him all dressed up.

Meh.  We'll see.  The beauty of CVS and Walgreens:  one hour holiday cards.   24 hours a day.  I kind of do this every year.  My biggest challenge at this point is that I have to take the picture.  LOL. I do have a picture with Santa that I could use if I don't have time today.

  • Mine is that the only time I changed LOs sheet was because of a poop explosion but now that she doesn't do that anymore...I don't, like, ever. She sleeps on her back so it's not drooly and she doesn't get all sweaty...I dunno, is that gross?

Also, I laughed really hard at Trademama's confession.

oh good I'm not the only one!!  I've only washed and changed his sheets twice in 7 months and one time was because of a poo-sposion.

My FFFC is that I'm dreading Christmas because somehow we're ending up doing exactly what I didn't want to do: seeing all of our family in one day. Plus we're doing Christmas Eve at my MIL's. We live 50 miles from everyone plus DH's aunt hosts Christmas for his mom's side so that's another 40 miles away. DS is gonna be a hot mess after that long day. Every time I try to talk to DH about moving someone to another day he gets pissy. I just want to take DS and hide somewhere.

ok, here's mine...I have heard people say like a million time is that the problem with today's parents is that they want to be their kid's friends...
But I can't help it, I do want to be my kid's friend.   I will instill boundaries and discipline...but I am also looking forward to having lots of fun too and I want to be his  mom and his friend.

That's fitting today bc it's PJ day at LOs daycare. In my defense, I changed her into clean ones! Mine: I took off next Monday but I'm not telling DH. I want a day to finish all my shopping/wrapping/baking. If he knew I took off he'd have a whole list of crap he'd want me to do for him.

It is pajama day today ar my DC too!! In general, I dont take him out like that but I was thinking about it the other day because it just seemed warmer.

However, aren't some of them called sleep and plays? In that it is also a play outfit?  On the weekends I keep him in it. I mean I stay in my Pj's all day, I figure he wants the same comfort.

  • I opened this this morning but I needed more confessions to hide behind.....

There are a handful of babies on our HDBD that look a little too grown up for me and it kinda freaks me out a lil.  I'm not talking "oh he looks like a 1 year old but he's 7 months" I'm talking "HE LOOKS LIKE HE'S 10!!!"
All our babies are totally flippin cute but some of our babies are cute for 10 year olds...

we do the same thing (although I don't care about mismatching). S pees and/or poops on herself almost daily, sometimes more than once a day. I do it because I hate buttons and we have all these sleepers that are buttons instead of zippers and if I send them to school I don't have to deal with them and I still get to use the clothes.

My FFFC spawns from the other post about best of 2013, but I confess. I was here from the moment I got my BFP in Sept 2012 and I endured the whole Erica craziness. And for real, it wasn't as dramatic as you would think by the way everyone talks about it now.

OK she created a fake identity, posted here, made us all like her, then posted a crazy labor story and many follow ups and finally about the sudden death of her infant and it was all fake. But really it happened very quickly and it was upsetting because of where we all were in our pregnancies/new parents but its been over for quite a while. So I am pretty much over it and don't want to see her name anymore.

Am I kicked off the board now??? :)

All of this. I can't believe it's been that long though lol.
